Can you Run a Spring Clamp on the Front of the Pack all the Time, or should you just Run them when you are Racing?

I've never taken mine off... been on almost 2 years...don't know if it rides different/harsher...I've already forgotten if it is any different...

Nice.

I already have Sulastics, and I'm getting the Timbren Bump Stops for the Front & Rear anyways, so it'll be Nice and Smooth.

The P/N's for our Trucks ('99-'10), Silverado or Sierra, 1500HD or 2500HD are: Front - GMFK25S...Rear - GMRCK25S

I put clamps on 3+ years ago and left them on.

The ride is a hair stiffer, and the truck has a slightly lower stance unladen. It also really will lay rubber without much effort. :D

What made me Think about putting them On was when I Saw how much the Leaf Springs Wrap Up when you get on the Brakes Hard. You wouldn't Think they do, but DAMN.

I Ordered them from All Season.

$40/Pair or $75 for 4.

I got only 2 for the Front of the Pack, I read you only Use 4 if you're Pulling, and 2 for Drag Racing.

:D

:nopics:

IIRC, Pepp has "Dura-Clamps"

I'll have to get a couple pics up of the "Dura-Clamps"

mine are a bit different than the ones from all season...the Dura-Clamps are over engineered...you could put em' on a dump truck and they would do just fine...nothing like a little added insurance though...

James did you get your Timbrens from Tony at All Season as well?

I ordered mine from Rock Auto last night for $185 shipped using a discount code from this site...I was getting tired of seeing the truck Squat whenever I hook up my Work or Travel Trailer...

No, I'm gonna get them from Ebay prob.

cheapest on Ebay is $195 shipped

Rock Auto is $185 shipped

Not to hijack but I just ordered a set of these (Thanks for the link) from Rockauto. I was looking at airbags but for the price I figures I'd try them. I tow a 5th wheel and get a small amout of sag after I installed the Sulastics and the 2" drop. I hope these cure that.

Same reasons here Ed...they are worth a shot...did you use the discount code to get them like $9 cheaper? (it pays for the shipping basically)

Well if you get them on Before Me, let Us know how they Ride.

Will do.

Yes I used the discount. Thanks for letting me know they had the codes out. I was going with another supplier that had free shipping till I saw the discount.

I'm hoping that they aren't noticable when I'm not loaded down. I'm afraid that with the crappy ass roads here in Beaumont I'll be bouncing off of them. Even with the Sulastics I'm having a ruff ride.

Sorry for the hijack.

Yea, I know they're Cheaper on RockAuto, but Ebay has Reward Bucks now, and I got Money in PayPal, so to me, they are Cheaper on Ebay.

well I put on the Timbrens today... :(

They are definitely not for trucks with the sulastics shackles...IMO

The rubber is too tall and the truck empty sits on them...I think it even raised the rear of the truck from being level to ever so slightly higher than level...you can feel the road more...all of it!

I just went and hooked up the trailer and it didn't even squat...so trailering (2/3's my driving) it seems will do betterand without the weight lifting off the front torsions it should control the loads better...I'll know more tomorrow when I put it on the interstate and then next Tuesday on my longer haul day...

I think if the rubber spring were shorter or if the sulastics weren't on there they wouldn't be preloaded on the rear axle...

does anyone know if on a stock truck the timbrens ride preloaded on the rear axle?

I think I'm going to give Timbren a call to see if they could find a solution I think we need the rubber to be shorter...

I wonder if they have that exact same rubber maybe an inch and a half to 2 inches shorter...

Ed once you put yours on let me know as well ...

on edit: I wonder if my stock springs could have sagged this much...I leave my work trailer hooked most of the time...hmmmm.

...also wondering if the timbrens could be cut down some....
