Running issues

It's not my rig. I'm helping a friend.... It's not a "for hire" rig he uses it as a flat bed hauling lumber, rock, car's and parts....
But thanks for the info. I know California is a beautiful state. I lived in Sacramento back in the 70's was Great... Now I stay away it's gotten really difficult to enjoy life there.

Thank you for all your help and suggestions. but we ran out of time. Dave left the truck at the auto repair in calif too long we only had a couple weeks to trouble shoot plus other things us snowbirds do. we did try some of the simple suggestions but to no avail still runs fine then just shuts off. Dave was hoping to get the truck running to drive home (his wife fly's) but with time running out he also got a plane ticket we're both heading back home this weekend. We will attack this issue next winter when we get back down here we'll be able to spend some time with it and now we have a plan of attack that you have provided and let you know what we found.
Thanks again to all
Steve

Be careful leaving a vehicle at a repair shop for an extended period. some shops will start charging storage outragous fees and rip people off
Absolutely.... It's stored at a friend's house... We couldn't find a shop in Yuma that would work on it.
I have a Ford sport Trac that the thieft device set off and wouldn't start. Had towed to a auto repair they couldn't work on it because ford dealership are the only ones with the right scan tool... Had it towed to the dealership... They wouldn't work on it because it was too old (2004) thanks to you tube and great people like you... With guidance I replaced the computer with keys and the key transceiver and it works!!! bout $275 and an hour labor....
