RETURN HOSE BETWEEN INJECTORS IS BAD

I had this engine partially apart last winter, replaced injectors and fuel return hoses between the injectors and at the ends of the cylinder heads.
The kit I had bought was BWD.
The other day I though I could smell fuel, popped the hood and the right side very front hose had split.
I now have some hose from NAPA and am in the process of replacing all of them.
Is there a brand of the little hose that is better than other ?
Does anyone put a little lube inside of the hose to get them to shove on easier ?

The last time I did it the hose had fabric on the outside and didn't require clamps. Not sure of the brand. Leroy would know but he's in Houston. Hopefully he is fine where he is.

Make sure it is has 30R6 on the hose if you buy it from Napa or anywhere else. That is diesel rated hose.

Leroy diesel sells the return lines with the clamps. I bought mine from badger diesel just to be able to try the ones without clamps. (Leroy didn't have them on his site when I was looking for some) I haven't had any leaks without the clamps but I know most people don't like the ones without clamps.

The hose that don't require clamps have like a serrated edge that grabs the injectors and the return lines. I'm probably going to have to cut mine off if I get a leak or they start rotting

If you get the cloth covered style, go buy it from a Mercedes Benz dealership. Get if for OM603 engine.

It is the best hose, and there is a HUGE misconception that old MB diesel parts are expensive- they are cheaper than GM 6.5 parts.

Thank You everyone for the replies.
I have the left { easy side } done.
I dont see a R36 anywhere on the hose, tough to read the small print but, It does say made in Germany and is the same kit that is listed in the Rock Auto page.
I wonder if this is the same hose that VW uses ? it does have what looks like NBK printed on it.
I am using the clamps too. Man, is that a pain with everything in the way. Getting them settled down onto the the hose so that they are at least flush with the shoulder of the injector. All sorts of pushing devices is being used. LOL
Time to pull the turbo now. Darn, and I had already done this once. LOL Oh well, now I can check and see if the plane job I did on the turbo exhaust flange and the exhaust manifold is still holdin. It takes quite a while when using 80 grit and a block of wood to get the high spots sanded off. LOL

After I got the Borg Warner kit, there was no hose clamps with it, I contacted them with the part number and asked about the clamps, they said no clamps were necessary. It was right at the very ends of the hoses where they are splitting. I "think" that if there would have been clamps around the ends of the hoses, that would have prevented the splitting.
With this NAPA kit, there is no clamps. I bought a package of 24 clamps and am installing them. We shall see if this hose will split.
Coming off with the turbo now.

I used needle nose vise grips to do the clamps. The smallest needle nose ones work best. Hold the clamps up the hose a bit, push the hose on and then the clamp down. I also shrink tube the ends of the coverings leaving enough hose exposed for the clamps.
I think some of my issue was underhood temps. It got so hot that touching anything metal hurt. I put vents in my hood.

One guy I worked with always used aircraft safety wire, and the special wire pliers. Never had a problem until it was time to take them off. Then getting the small cutters in there was a challenge.

I used to use aircraft grade safety wire inside the primary chain case on My old Harley. I too have seen a hose or two with the safety wire around them, it did look to be a bit of a challenge.
All new hoses installed, after a nap, Now just finishing the top side stuff. Turbo is on and it does not apper that it had been leaking at the exhaust flange. whooohoooo. LOL
I`d probably be finished by now except for the well cleaning guy shoed up to clean the shallow well, it had plugged up, the well is in the basement so He hands Me down the rifle and a big old towel, wrapped the towel around the barrel, stuffed it into the well, aimed it straight down and fired a round. he then pumped it out with the 3" diaphragm pump.
It does not run out of water now. LOL
This shallow well cleaning business is one that I had started, going to use it to supplement the retirement income, along with some repairing, back got so bad I could not pack the hoses so I traded the business off. The guy that now has it is doing very well, pun intended. makes a lot of nice extra spending money. LOL

What kind of back issues?
It was a herniated disk. The doc carved off a chunk and it is much better, not as good as it once was, but as good once as it`ll ever be. LOL
I now have a constant reminder of just how much to not lift and what positions to not get into.
it was not a lifting wreck that created the problem, it was a flipped four legged stepping stool that flung Me across the shop floor for about twenty feet, then landed on the left side of the back. Mostly the left hip. Whatever it did, it herniated the disk. Doic signed off that I had reached My maximum medical improvement, return to work, light duty. No room in the shop for a light duty mechanic so they told Me to load up My tools and personal gear and go home. I said, okay. I already had in 31 years, just wanted another nine so the house would be paid off, but no, I had to draw out the retirement and pay off the property and a couple other bills, then the wifeys Buick sprung more prestone leaks thn I wanted to keep up with, bought Her an 08 Malibu with about 20,000 miles on it, and that was the end of that. That was in 09. LOL
The car was a surprise to her. A long story but She had picked out the car thinking She was going to be renting it while Her Buick was in the shop, It wasnt until i gort back home and went out to settle up with them that She realized that the Buick was not coming back home. LOL

Do you have back spasms? If so try formula 303 an herbal muscle realxant, great stuff.
Not so much now. After the wreck, it was bad. it did not seem that the prescription muscle relaxers did much for it. i`d bet that the natural ones would.
Biggest thing now is restless leg, that stuff is really the pits. LOL

Living on a reduced income can be a hard change. Been doing it myself for several years, digging into savings, trying to save a dime and in effect spending a dollar.
