REMOVED THE NITTO'S AFTER 5K MILES

No, actually the tires I was talking about came stock on the 03 Dodge 2500 and the 02 Ford Explorer. These are the only 2 I know of. Its not one of the cheaper michelins. I will look it up and see if I can find it. It's not aggressive at all but good on the road where my Yukon stays most of the time.

Toyo A/T's all the way! Alot of my buddies went for the cheaper Nittos and they don't hold up worth a crap. If they would just listen the first time to me...

The BFG's are old news....The A/T is a great tire, don't get me wrong but they are just bland looking...I know a guy who got 100k miles out of a set....the old mud sucks but I hear the new mud is better than Toyo MT's which wouldn't be hard, TOYO MT's suck offroad, look good when clean, and are loud and throw up rocks and chip the side of the truck on the road....I just like a tire that looks good and performs good...noise and wear doesn't mean a lot if it is good in the other 2 catagories

I had 285/60/R18 on a 98 Tahoe, and i loved them, rode great, handled well, all around good to me. A friend of my dad's swears by them, and he has had them on everything from a 02 F250 PS, and his 08 GMC Sierra CC. We have toyos on our D-max, and my mom's 02 suburban and they were good too, but will be replacing them this fall, have 60,000 on them, the d-max will need them sometime in the next year, as the stock bridgestones went out at 26,000. these trucks are incredibly hard on tires.

I have the toyo open country a/t's and I will never buy another set. I've got about 25,000 miles on them and they are almost bald. I've really only done one good burnout with them. I specifically asked for a good wearing tire. I've towed a 10,000lb skid/trailer combo for about probably 10,000 of those miles. They handle good though. I'm looking for a better wearing tire, that provides good traction and braking ability and is good in the snow. My tires are 265/75/16 E rated.

I'm running Cooper Discoverer ATR's and have had no real problems with them. Never ran a Cooper tire before, only Goodyear and Bridgestones, but where I use to work had Coopers on the work trucks and we did some heavy off roading, for work at least. They are no mud tire, but for an AT tire, they did pretty damn good getting us out of some nasty situations IMO. The only two times we had to get pulled out was when we thought we were going over solid ground with around 6-8" of snow on the ground and ended up running over a soft area and sunked the truck all the way to the frame. I bought my '06 with them on there with about 50% tread left, and will most likely be fine thru the summer and fall, but by winter I will have a new set of tires on the truck. I'm going to be looking at the Cooper ATR's or S/T's, or BFG's T/A KO's.

 Got it! Those are the ones that the tire store told my wife would be good alternatives for her suburban. I think they are a bit less expensive too.

Be careful with these. I had them on my 02 Yukon XL 1500 and while they rode well and were quiet, I barely got 20,000 out of them. I bought them from Costco and they honored the warranty and put on a set of the LTX tires for just under 400.00. Those are wearing very well.

I'd google cooper for those wanting to get them. I don't remember the details, but when I was looking for tires I came across a few different articles on their inferior design. They left steps out that all the rest of the manufacturers use which affected the sidewall strength or something like that. They had a bunch of lawsuits too. After I read that I checked out my brother's and sure enough he had several bulges in his sidewalls.
If you have coopers, there's a very good chance that if you go check your tires you'll have at least one bulge per tire running from rim to tread on the sidewall. He had several. I don't think it's unusual to see one, or even small ones. But my brother's had several large ones.

So how do you like the LTX tires? I know they wear well..most Michelins do, but how are they on wet roads etc.?

They did just as well if not better than the Cross Terrains did in the rain.

IMO, I like them much better than the Cross Terrains...

Cool! I've kinda been stressin' over this because I want my wife to have good tires on her rig. Sometimes she drives by herself to Texas and the weather can really change in just a few miles. I have always liked the Michelins, but I was hearin' some bad things about wet weather traction. Thanks!

The Mrs. got her Michelin LTX M&S tires this morning. Man, they look good. I tried to talk her into upsizing to the 265's, but she didn't wanna fork the extra cash for the spare. Anyways, they look good. Now, I get to focus on tires for my dually. Thanks for all of the feedback...
