so my cool new burban,, was said to have a remote start. Got 2 key fobs, that were dead, PO told me that he had used it a few times when he got the truck 10 years ago, but because his garage was below his house. He didn't carry the fobs, for fear of pocket starting the rig. < which happened a few times > I replaced the batteries, and now the lights work on fob's but nothing happens. I looked around and found a Design Tech sticker, So I did some googling, to find out that Co. had been bought out by another. When I called them, they put me on hold to try to find some E manuals to send me. While on hold, I was looking under the dash, and found a plug in module, that had a yellow wire unplugged. Plugged it in, and pushed the button, the dash lite up, glow plugs cycled, and Vrooom! Truck starts up! The whole system, is intact, with remote start/alarm system. When locked with that fob, the alarm activates. Unlock to deactivate. I really don't need an alarm out in the boonies in a small town. But that remote start will come in handy! :agreed:

Funny,, cause when he came back online,, 4 min wait,, I told him, while you were gone I fixed it! he did send me a manual , based on the description of by key fob. Which be the way, the manual he sent, was not the same model I have. But I don't care to much, it works like a charm!

I got mine from Oreilly's auto parts a few years ago. Never put it on yet. Was $99. It is a BullyDog. I think they are out of business now?? not positive, but have seen them new on line still. Google it??

I have one waiting to go in, I need to figure out the wiring on a 1994 6.5L diesel so I can proceed. My remote start comes with alarm, remote door locks, cold weather auto start, a whole list of features. I've been looking off and on for a schematic, but so far I have only found guys who want $50 for it. The makers of the kit said they have schematics, but the link they give no longer supplies such info, it just says to take it to CANADIAN TIRE for installation. Being EFI I don't want to do it wrong, otherwise I'd do the guy thing and "wing it".... Any Ideas?

Me want :hihi: Those auto starters that will work on a diesel are few and usually cost more. Lucky you....

I have two, one I bought for my wifes car and then I found out it has a fob key, and a mod that would allow a remote start is worth 3 times the price I paid for the remote. I may sell it.....It is loaded with features including diesel start, cold weather start for diesels (starts every 2 hours) remote door locks, extra relay for????? New in box!

Have you tried your local library? I don't know about up there, but many places down here the local library has internet connections to sites that have schematics.

I am not understanding what has which feature, your wifes car or the remote/start/alarm box.

My Sub has the remote control delete :)???: :WTF:) option, BUT an cheesy after market alarm added by the dealer before delivery to the DOD. I smell a scam...

It also has an HOUR METER

brand model $$$

I'm sorry, I wanted to add the remote start to my wifes car. Her car has a built in FOB in the key for anti theft. Without a module to allow a remote starter feature, the car won't start. This module costs 3 times the amount I paid for the remote starter which I want to install in her car. So I won't install it, I can sell it. It has many features, it can be installed in a diesel. I have 2 of these remote starters, I want to install the other in my GMC 6.5

Had the same thing on my Titan, but the module was only $30.

My wife's new Chevy Cruze, has a factory remote start. It makes her :arms::kiss::hurray::willynilly:
My wife would like that too.
My wife cant stand extremes of temperature I tell her she's such a ***** (cat). I cant type her response here.
Most of the time when I get into her car all the a/c outlets are pointed at my chest (her head) and cranked up full.

Funny you should mention a Cruze.
I am looking at the Chey Cruze diesel for her, next year maybe. I hope we can get it in a stick not a ***** (cat) automatic. She had two VW beetles TDI's (both stick) and liked driving them but thought they were a bit small. BTW my warranty work experience with the turbo on the 98 is evidence that even VW can make mistakes turbo-ing a diesel. The 01 was better, variable vane, turbo with all the bugs worked out.

That's hilarious, I did not know p+++y would get auto replaced by *****. I just added the (cat) part for giggles. :hihi: That's about as far as I go with crude words.

Then you'll enjoy this reading,,,, a 2014 model is set to appear in 2013 the Cruze Eco-D

http://gmauthority.com/blog/2012/04/gm-targeting-700-mile-range-for-chevy-cruze-eco-d-diesel/

We got 416 miles on 12.8 gallons of gas, in a 15.6 gallon tank, in our 2011 Cruze LT2 RS 6sp auto. It's loaded heated leather, sunroof, 10 airbags, bluetooth phone, ect. She's one happy lady!

I'd trade it in a minute for a Diesel 6sp stick as long as it's got all the same options.

Cool I'll read that. I did see at the dealer a ECO gas version. 1.4 L turbo gas motor. Humm ain't that the generator motor in a Volt??? (no turbo)
