recall on instrument clusters/speedometer

i just received a letter in the mail about a lawsuit saying that the clusters on the 01-05 trucks are prone to failure and if you have 80k on your truck and experience this failure then you can have gm replace the cluster for no charge. anybody else get this letter? maybe its just CA?

I got the letter too. I haven't had any problems except the second half of the speedo lights like to go out sometimes. A good smack on the dash gets them to come back on.

wow.. i def have this problem.. my cluster said my oil pressure gauge was at 0!! scared the hell out of me.. and it came on the next day! my light on it always go out also

my gas guage does not read gull when it is full and my oil pressure goes to almost 0 when idling and only 32 when at 3200 rpm .I will check diesel haulings link to see......

You could have a few different problems going on. Usually the fuel guage issue is caused by the level sensor in the tank. and the low oil pressure could mean several diff things such as; fuel in the oil, bad pressure sensor, worn bearings, or something like that. Keep in mind that it's perfectly normal for these engines to run low oil pressure at hot idle (13 psi).

my truck is a 05 cc4x4 lly auto regency conversion with 56000 miles on it I did buy it used at 47000miles it was really super clean so I hope it is not worn bearings I am so busy right now that I do not have time to get it checked out. but soon hope to get it in a stealer and have it . thanks for the info.
