Can a radio from an 02 be swapped into 97 style truck?

The PO of my truck cut the connectors off and I would like to put a factory style radio in. I dont mind cutting and splicing wires as long as the wires are there to connect.

If it fits I dont see why not, just get the wiring diagrams for each truck. Im not a radio expert though

It won't be a problem, both of those models have the same style radios. They will slide right in place and the connectors are the same.

But, since you don't have the connector you could just splice them color for color, or find a harness from a junk yard you could splice in.

The radio in my 95 BURB came out of an 02 BURB, so yes it will definately fit. Just make sure the radio isn't locked that you put back in it. The later model radios have the theftlock in them to prevent them from being stolen.
