Questions about ACDelco vs Baldwin oil filters

I'm running Donaldson filters ATM. Got a mess of them for the 88 awhile back, from what I understand they are comparable to baldwins.

They are. They are both excellent filters. Donaldson uses some good filter media in their filters. I think they even make the filters for Amsoil.

I had an aunt who worked with Balwin filters for yrs and they were really good. I use the GM Delco because they are readily available here for me. But I just changed oil last month and I had only put 6K on the truck last yr. I also use a Valvoline blend oil and I like it also.
I dont recall where I read it but Baldwin also makes filters in China and at one time I know I read they had a problem with them. But Ihave been unable to find what I had read to pass along.

I used to use Amsoil filters until the cost of them drove me out, I disconnected my oil by-pass system and started using AC Delco filters. I even started to use a different brand of synthetic oil because Amsoil is costing way too much. I am using Schaeffers oil that is half the cost of Amsoil and provides the same if not better results. They provide me free oil testing. Draw a sample and sent it in.

Just an update. I bought a case of the Baldwin filters and they came really fast and at a really great price. I have gone back to that site several times but found the site down. I sent an email to ask what's up. Got a response that some low life hacked their site and destroyed the software. They were able to only rebuild part of the site and will have new more secure software by the end of this week. Anyways, I'm purty stoked about the Baldwin oil filters and now I'm good to go for another 60K miles. Thanks for the tip on this source for filters.

They are both great filters. AC is OEM, Donaldson is a specialized filter maker. Either or. Six of one, a half dozen of another.

10K is a safe oil change if you analyze the oil. My 2008 run hard, heavy, and hot towing RV all over including out here did well and had good oil samples on the shell Rotella regular oil. I ran the truck by the temperature gauge as it had more power than cooling. I also had a 2 quart oil cooler added on to it. I doubt many are running their truck that hard. If you do 10K is still possible. So save yourself some cash and run the oil out.
