QUESTION: about front end lift for a 6.5 Diesel platform

Hi.
Need to lift the front suspension a little bit, 2"-3" to make some more space for the wheels. Is going to do the lift by changing the torsion bar keys. How much can I lift without messing up the camber? I know the upper control arms have camber adjustments. Is it neccessary to have the camber re-adjusted if lifting 2"-3"?
Thanks.

I leveled my Sub with the torsion bars about an inch and a half. It negativly affected the ride so I returned to original. The roads I drive are really rough and it was way to stiff (kidney belt needed)with the bars turned. I would go with a body lift.

Hi.
Body lift is not street legal here (Norway). If it were I would have gone for it. I've also heard that the turbo side manifold will hit the inner fender if body lifted? Another option is to mount cut out fender flares. As it is now the wheels hit the rear lower edge of the fender. :nonod:

Turning up T Bars does add stress to the front end and it does stiffen the ride.

How much lift are you wanting, lift in the rear too? Look for a 4in lift that drops the front axle then de crank the T Bars on the lift and add 2-3 AAL in the rear.

yea like everyone said it will wear ur front end parts faster. The aftermarket keys are just a waste also, you can only crank so far the aftermarket keys just make it look like you have more adjustment left when you dont. If ur set on cranking then just use ur factory keys.

This is the route I would suggest as well..

I've had the T-bars cranked on a 2 door Yukon once, very terrible ride and funky wear on everything. I also think what happens, is when the T-bars are cranked up all the way, when you go over bumps / dips in the road, that the suspension doesn't have any droop. Basically causing the control arms, shocks, ball joints to slam against their "extending" limits when you go over a sudden rise

As if it wasnt demonstrated well enough already, My 94 has the bars turned up. Very hard ride sounds like metal to metal over the bumps. I installed new shocks to see if that helps. I had to put the truck on jack stands and use a jack to lift the A arm up enough for the shock holes to line up. The passenger side was so bad that as I was lifting the a arm to line up the shock holes I started to lift the truck off of the jack stand and the suspension wasnt even against the rubber stops yet. I think the previous owner did it to get rid of the lower front end look and level it out. I sure like how it looks and hate the lower front end look but the ride sucks! I had an ASE master tech working for me some time back and he recomended extended leaf spring connectors for the back. So instead of lifting the fron just lower the back a bit. Of course this doesnt help wehn you want bigger tires. No body lift in Norway!? And I thought USA was in our business all the time. I do believe that outlawing guns and lifts would bring all of our redneck brothers and cousins out of the woodworks and go full on revolt.

Hi Cali6,5.
I've already experienced what you mean by how bad it rides after a turn up of the t-bars. Tried it out with the stock keyes. Thought it would be better if swapping the keyes, as I figured out that metal to metal apperad when the keyes touched the crossmember.
It seems like I'm ending up with a mild turn-up in combination with shaved fender edges and cutting the lower rear end off the fenders. This way it seems like I'm ending up with a 3cm lift, which isn't that bad when it comes to road performance.
Yeah, believe it or not, no body lift allowed. And another yeah, gun control is completely rigid here as well, latest suggestions now is to ban regular pistols because they're semi-automatics. Normal Norwegian citicens understands that a ban have no effects if your're not a normal citicen from the beginning. Elected politicians does not understand this. Ban's have no effects on other than the good citicens. Thats my opinion.
