hey i just bought my first 6.5 and the previous owner turned the pump up. and it doesnt seem to run right. is it possible the pump timing is off. should i just turn the pup back down... and not to be that guy. but how do i get some smoke. i dont want ridiculous coal but i wanna show my presence to the ricer guys in my town:cool:

thanks
Kcrossman

i guess ill stay away fro smoke lol.. cant afford a motor.. i would like to someday have some decent power but idk if that will happen

I'm just messin with ya, it won't kill it unless your sprayin for mosquitos or small critters like coons or something.

Your Coming across like you want to lose your ricer buddys in a 3 mile wide smoke screen. LOL

Come on buddy chime in are you typing a book or something??

haha if i wanted that much smoke i would have bought another cummins. id rather be a little puff of smoke and then nothing but power

haha yea.. i just figured ive owned a cummins and a powerstroke. so i figured i would try this diesel out untill i can afford to buy my dads duramax from him

That said, these are not so easy to find(I had been looking for awhile). Otherwise look at the lines scribed on the pump where it meets the timing case cover. there should be a line on the cover and on the IP.I have yet to see one run good with the marks ,lined up and I have timed many. I would start off with the line on the IP kicked about a matchbook covers width to the drivers side and see how it sounds. It should sound a little marlby and start good. Hard to describe , I just know when it sounds right. The MT480 is the best way.
