problems with Predator

It would seem that it would suffice to simply disconnect all power to the CD deck and maybe even the gauges (?) rather than removing it. All you're trying to accomplish here is to reduce/remove the electrical burden on the system so you can tune the truck.

But what do I know...

You're right, and I already tried removing the fuses for the radio. I guess i could do the gauges too but I just dim them all the way down anyways.

In my mind, there's no way it's the add ons I have. I didn't have problems with my previous cd deck and this one is nearly identical.

When the GPCM went bad in mine, it was leaving the GP's on... this pulling too much draw and not leaving enough voltage for the programmer to work. It would start to transfer the tune but then switch to "read error"..... I'm using a quadzilla but it had the same sensitvity to voltage drops as the diablo appearantly does

Glow Plug Control Module? I had to google that GPCM.

How can I tell if it's bad? Will it throw a code? Is there a way to unplug it and try the tuner again?

After doing some searching...wouldn't my wait to start light stay on for an extended amount of time or throw a code? I don't have either of these problems.

P0562 and P0380 were two of them... I think there were 5 total. As for unplugging it, not to sure about that.

My GP indicator stayed lit for only a little longer when it went bad. 2 of the GP's were staying on but not leaving the lamp lit. I dont know if its possible to test this without pulling the GPCM. Hopefully someone else can answer that one......

edit: as far as i can tell, it was the lb7's that were having GP problems, not the lly's. Sounds unlikely it would be your problem, but I'm not an expert.....

Yeah, I doubt that's it. Predator doesn't show any GP codes. Thanks for the idea though. Sadly I was hoping that was it. I need to get the Pred out before it goes to the dealer on MON!
