Actually, could not clear the crank position sensor past the power steering pump, so I need to move or remove it. I did this job back in 2010 when I replaced the timing chain, but can't remember how to do it. I got the bracket that bolts to the block off. Removed two bolts behind the pulley. But no budge. Do I have to remove the entire mount that also holds the front of the AC compressor (this is the '99).

Also, broke the plug receptacle on the sender that goes into the block behind the power steering pump. What is that sender called?

There is a little bracket that angles back behind the pump to the block. The most recent one I pulled I did pull with the AC bracket as a unit.
About the sensor if it is in the head it would be the coolant temp sensor.

Just went and looked at my 96 (which I think is the same)..............brought back some memories. I did try one time, and was unable to pull the pump by itself (without pulling the whole bracket). I think to get the pump off the bracket you have to get the special tool and pull the pulley off the pump.

Yes Paveltolz sent me diagrams and it says and shows removing the pulley. Special tool for removal and a different one for reinstall. Where do I get these?

parts stores.........autozone and oreilleys around here will loan them out for free......You buy them, use them, then return them for a full refund.

OK I was able to get clearance by undoing the PS side bolt and loosening the DS side bolt behind the pulley without removing the pulley. Also pulled the bracket to the rear. The insulation on the wires at the plug end of the Crank Position Sensor was showing bare wires and likely shorting. New CPS is back in and it's mostly put back together, but ran out of light. Need to round up a coolant temp sensor tomorrow.
