possible head gaskets

That is ludicrous that a mech would strip out bolts like that. If you had in the shop and they found them stripped they would likely want to charge you extra for it.
 
yep! i know that when i am working, either on my own stuff, or actuall paid work, if something is stripped, it gets replaced. no questions asked. even if i know somwone wont be in there later. there is no need for it. im not sure that i want to look at the ones on the driver side! who knows whats over there
