port above oil cooler lines for turbo supply

I have a port above the oil cooler lines and was wondering if I could use this port as the oil supply for my turbo? Basically does the port provide oil at pressure?

I assume you got good pressure from that port? I will have to look, but it sounds like that is where the banks manual recommends getting the oil supply from.

It appears to be a drill path end plug. And you will get pressurised oil there. It is really before any main galleries distribution to bearings etc so a restriction to flow should be provided so not too much oil is taken away from engine circulation.

The bypass filters have a restricting orfice in them but it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to restrict the flow at the block in case you blew the line. I didn't, but that's not to say it would not have been a good idea.

The easiest way to supply the turbo oil in a 6.2 is to put a T in at the rear where the oil pressure switch goes. Nipple into block and T, OPS into one hole, Turbo oil line other hole.

Not to my knowledge. That is the way Diesel Depot sets up their motors.

That is also the way they recomend tapping in to add a bypass filter.
