Please tell me its nothing (knocking)

I would pull the belt and check the vacuum pump and harmonic balancer. Turn them back and forth by hand. Run the engine with the belt off and see if it makes any difference.

The clacking sound is still there. Had it checked by a shop and they said they couldnt find anything. After listening to many other peoples 6.5 it just sounds like thats how everybody's truck sounds. Though i will try and do that with tech.

Sounds just like my '95, especially when I was having problems with the CPS and setting TDCO.

Where is the belt?
The serpentine belt. (runs the fan, alt, etc)
The harmonic balancer is behind the crankshaft pulley. If you can turn the crankshaft pulley back and forth and it hits metal each way then you want to replace the balancer asap. I think you might just be able to look at the rubber to see if it is cracked if you don't want to take the belt off but it is a while since I had a 6.5 do I don't remember for sure if you can see it.

Taking belt off is easy, just need to put a long handle with socket (or long wratchet) on the tensioner pulley and pull it loose. Put it back on the same way.
