Hello new guy here, please if any ideas would be grate. I got an older 6.2 that starts and idols just fine cold or hot but nothing over 20/30 mph and no to little boost and getting worse! the power is just flat its got new fuel filters and a new but cheap lift pump and an electrical booster pump. I just took the truck on a 400 mile trip and the truck ran just fine but this has Ban an on going problem. Ho and the truck dose smoke a little at idol.

I read something about a fuel metering valve sticking, what is that? could that be my problem?

Well I'm not super familiar with turbos but if there is an exhaust leak pre turbo then it doesn't spool and just acts as an exhaust restriction and power eater.

The metering valve is in the IP Can't quite recall what it looks like but it regulates fuel output I believe. If it starts sticking then yes it could cause problems. You could try taking the top off the IP and filling it with power service or another non alcohol based diesel treatment and see if that cleans it up at all. Or someone else may respond with more knowledge about what it looks like and exactly where it's found.

what turbo setup are you running?

how old is the IP and injectors?
you said you have a LP(lift pump) + a booster, I've gotta ask why? both are diesel friendly?

how many miles on the engine?

last question. What tranny are you running?

Well I got a banks turbo kit on it, full kit from air cleaner to the stacks.
and the IP is original I think. Mileage is around 200.000 and mechanically still strong.
And for the electric booster pump (I was waiting for this question) I've ben running motor oil/diesel mix so I wanted to help the mechanical LP.
Please if any ideas!! I don't want to replace an IP if I don't have to.
Sorry, and I got a th400 tranny behind my 6.2.

I'd say both the IP and injectors are probably toast then. You'd have to use a centrifuge on the used oil to get it clean enough
