IIRC, I read a year or 2 ago that since damn near everyone had installed the PISK Kits then still even had the Pitman & Idler wear out, that the PISK Kits weren't really needed. Also, IIRC, some people said that they had even more problems after installing them, or that they did absolutely nothing.

Now...I just got done changing out my Idler Arm and the PISK wouldn't go back on because the Threads on my new Arm were different than the OE one, and I don't have the extra PISK Parts anymore.

So I went for a Drive and the Steering is better. Feels tighter. There was just enough play in the old Idler Stud that you could feel it move if you held it and tried to wiggle it.

So...is the PISK REALLY NEEDED, or not?

Who here DOESN'T have one installed and has not had any problems? Because there's TONS of Duramax's in my area, and I can guaran-damn-tee that none of them have PISK Kits, and they're all driving fine and straight down the road.

the only problem I had with mine was my installer did not use red loctite on the pitman arm heim joint threads...the nut backed off and the threads wore off from pulling and pushing through the brace...I just got my replacement heim joint from Cognito. $45+ s&h...

when they replace it this time red loctite will be used and the nut from the idler will be backed off and red loctite put on it...other than that, I have had zero problems...even putting it on a high mileage system, which I believe was the primary concern users of this kit were facing...broken pitman arms (iirc)...

So do you REALLY think it's one of those "gotta have it" Parts?

I wish the All Season Kit would work for me, but it's for Non-Lifted Trucks only.

Not worth it. May be unsafe. I've been though the stock front steering stuff and replaced it all with Moog parts. Handles very well. But I'm not lifted either.

I think all the various Height Stages my Truck has been through def contributed to what I have goin on with my Front End. Not that anything is Bent, just worn out.

Next is the Pitman Arm. The Idler kicked my ass yesterday. I think I'm just gonna be careful and Cut the Pitman off the Steering Box with a Wiz Wheel, rather than screwing around with it.
