Starter bolts- GM part # 15544950

Starter bracket (gm calls it just "brace")- Gm part # 23502557

Lower radiator hose Tee to overflow tank.

It's 3/4" on the Tee end, and 1" on the end that goes on the overflow tank. Don't bother with the one from NAPA (made by Gates); it's 5/8" on the Tee end and 1" on the other; it's deformed at the 1" end, and you gotta stretch it to go on the T end. It costs the same as the one from the stealer and the dealer item has new heatshield material already on it. NAPA doesn't.


GM 15031596 This is the hose that goes from the T (tee) on the lower radiator hose up to the surge tank (stealer calls it an overflow tank).


I searched for it here before I bought mine and couldn't find it. It was $36 locally. I couldn't wait for a Partszoneonline or GMPartsDirect order to crawl its way across the country.

Two hard to locate items

Most GM parts guys give you the deer in the headlights look when you ask


Cylinder head dowel sleaves (GM calls them dowel pins) #12558081

Aftermarket has yet to offer these, or at least I can't find them

Oil pumps come with the coupler but you can't get one by itself

The plastic coupler is sweet if your pump is Ok and you just want to clean and reinstall.

Have a shaft fall out OMG what a PITA.

Hey this is a nice piece of work guys but as always every job can be improved, as a newbie I feel that other newbies and other people less aware of the totally awesome capabilities of this forum would find this stickie very easily and use it to buy a part that is not only not as good as the vendors on this site but also more expensive. What we need is a statement in the beginning stating that the FIRST list of parts and numbers are supplied by the VENDORS on this site and then the next list are the outside vendors and GM part numbers! As an example we dont want someone buying a expensive PMD and fryng it when they can get one from Leroy @ PMDCABLE on a extension that will prolong its life or many of the other superior venders here at TTS. Gotta take care of us newbies, we be sorta....well....dumb....LOL WE owe this to the vendors and to the public, after all u diesel dudes are really awesome.
