Painting intake

Intake is on the way.
I think I found the solution : caliper paint (e.g. Dupli-color or VHT).

I ordered a bright blue can, as my truck is stellar metallic blue, should do pretty nice.

Well, here is the update :

I bought a used F intake at fleabay.

The lower part "as is" :

upper "as is" after dewebing cut to the right length (less 6")

ready for painting

parts were cleaned using alloy wheel cleaner, brush and sweat

Then, painting.
No primer, and I used blues caliper paint from europe.
I was willing to use VHT or duplicolor bright blue caliper paint, but due to security restrictions, no spray can can fly from US, so :sad:

First coat :

As far as painting, what about those home powder coating kits you can buy? I've seen them in Summit, maybe JCW, too. They're pretty inexpensive, but do they work?


Yeah Eastwood has one also,, it works good, as long as you don't use your wifes oven to bake the item,,, cause once she's done with you, you won't have much need for the intake anyway,, unless you can still use it once extracted from your butt!
