P400 heads wanted

Wanted to buy a set of p400 heads. New or used.
N/A hummer (same as pickup) or turbo hummer (same as van/ center mount turbo)

I have the 506 block with heads. Promised it to Marty, but he then wisely bought a new Optimizer. I’m thinking I’ll keep it for the heads, possibly for the other earlier ‘95 enigine I have in a crate.

If it’s a runner- just keep it in a corner. You never push yours hard- just the ATT which imo makes it easier on the engine being used only for occasional towing.

Chances are the heads are cracked already so you can’t add the hardened seats at this point.

Gep $900 each
Clearwater $625 each on sale now normally $650
Promaxx $538 each
Cheapest chinese heads $300 each -but not worth risking what I am trying to do.

I can get bare promaxx heads for $363 each. Thinking that through right now vs running what I have.

Really upset I couldn’t swing the p400 heads when they were available still. Or that last p400 engine that I missed out on. Such is life…

Sent an email to Quadstar right off, and was helping the wife with decorations for the niece’s b-day party in between watching my Raiders get beat up by Mahomeless. Phone pings email and John responds back - a set of truck style heads (the ideal one for my use) for sale @ $3,000. Painful because Chris had offered me a smokin deal onnone of the last complete p400 engines around but I just couldn’t get money together back then. But right now- the nickels are just barely there so he is sending me the invoice this morning.

1500 each vs 900 for optimizer head then cost of adding the hardened seats makes this a win easy enough. Man if I could have bought pre biden…

I never did get ahold of rubber duck- for those who haven’t used him, he is a descent guy and finding anyone who says he ripped them off hasn’t happened to my knowledge. Not the cheapest but also not the most expensive.

But once again it was Chris coming through with the right answer.
