OPS wild swings, Lp not working when engine is shut down

Thanks Ace, believe I better stick with the 15-40 cause veggie oil is harder to start so I need all the engine cranking rpms I can get. Wonder how many miles a 6.2 n/a usually gets? With a gas engine I would look for oil in the air filter or take the oil fill off while the engine is running and see what blows out to tell if a motor was goin over the hill. Can I do this with a diesel?

well, sort of. I am sure you will see some blowby and I wouldn't worry till it's pushing oil out the dipstick. They will run till that point. I have seen a well cared for 6.2 last close to 400K. I had a Jimmy with 339k on it. It smoked a bit and had blowby but it still was drivable. Nice thing about 6.2's is they are a dime a dozen. Can usually get a used one for 5-600$.

Wow thats good news! Is there any way I could tell if mine is not the original engine or if its been rebuilt cause it sure seems to run nice and all.
