Opinions on buying a new 6.5diesel

I had the same problem with a 4l60e truck. It ran me through the ringer. Turned out to be a bad ignition switch. Check all the grounds

What are you going to call her?

We came up with Larry and it seems to be sticking.

Made it home bald tires and all. Took a few miles to get comfortable with the way all that weight feels on them dinky 1/2 ton springs. I never pulled this heavy this far with this truck. Drivetrain wise Little D did great. I figure I had about 6800 behind me maybe a bit more. Got 13.6 mpg on the way up and about halfway back. EGTS never went over 900 and she would pull nice easy up hills at 13psi and about 700-800 on the pyro. Anyway hear are a few pics.

Forgot to attach the pics. Lets try this again.....

I like the TracRac on the white one. I have one and use it all the time.
So glad you did not name it Leroy like some other member did. I won't mention any names

Ditch the dinky 1/2 ton Springs and stick in 2500hd gmt800 leafs.

Truck looks good.

Leroy, my family names used vehicles after the po lol. Some of my trucks had oddly named po's.

glad to see you got it home!

16 inch rubber, 4L80E, and a 3.73 9.5 14 bolt should keep you happy on trailer duty.

I assume since this one has arrived, the supple springs will stay on the C1500? I bet a roadmaster active suspension would help out if its a little too saggy.

also, I see we are tied for 1995 rigs in the sig.

Thanks for all the compliments guys!

Tied.... we cannot have that. Guess I need to get another 95! :D:hihi:

The tires were a surprise. They are 225/75/R16. I figured they would look dinky and small, I know they did on an 88 4x4 K1500. But I think they actually look good on the truck. Tall and skinny.

I have looked into the roadmaster system. It looked like a cool setup.

Took the wife and Larry to dinner Wednesday evening. I have been quite surprised so far. This would be the 4th or 5th stock 2wd 6.5 turbo I have driven and by far it drives the best out of them all. It spins tires with ease and actually seems to run almost as strong as Little D currently runs (she has been slowly feeling weaker of late, I believe she is getting tired) with mods. Very nice drivetrain wise. I think with a few updates she will be a bull moose.
