I started to black out the grille today after a wash and wax. I used some trim tape that looks like carbon fiber and did a very entry level tape over the stock chrome piece. Then, I debadged it.

Opinions on debadging because I'm 50/50. I like the badging, then again, I think it kinda looks good black.

I also put on a new lower air dam that's larger and has brake cooling slots.

I debadged in stages.

Opinions welcome on which one looks the best.

I've decided to leave it black.

Also thanked the UPS guy for what he left me yesterday.

I wanted something with an enclosed air box. I dont care much for open filter elements. I prefer AFE and S&B products but Volant is a good design. I like the sealed air box. It also comes as an option with a Donaldson filter, and those really cant be surpassed by anything. I opted not to spend the additional $40 and stuck with the 5 layered oiled conical filter. I just couldn't justify the extra cash for a lifetime filter, they say is good for 100k miles.

Anyways, it's got a scoop that connects to the underside of the air box to behind one of the cooling slots in the lower air dam. Pretty nifty design I think.

I may or may not have gotten it sideways in an intersection today. :hihi:

I like that too. It's the way I've been rolling around. I just used carbon fiber trim tape and it looks pretty good actually. I need to have it repainted though.
