iv got a pretty good leak at the oil cooler line going into the oil filter housing
the aint much difference in price btwn pmds kit and lube specialtys so which one is better they both look good to me

That's about it. Your choice. Both reputable, both good prices.

But the oil lines don't go into the housing, they go into the block. Just to clarify.

I would not wait too long. Once they start leaking they only get worst.

Who you purchase from is up too you. They are both good companies.

The main difference is price mine cost less and I also go the extra step and wrap my hoses with a plastic spiral wrap to keep the stainless braid from cutting the frame in half :D

If I can help.......

i noticed that they dont go into the housing after i posted that my bad thanks tho

iv also found that its not at the connections it is the line it self
damn my bad luck two trucks and they both are broke and i aint got the time to work on them ughhhh ganna have tpo make time i guess but for now im drivin my dads ford econoline yay i hate that damn thing

My kit comes with all fittings needed no matter what year block you have. Also fits 2 and 4 wheel drive. Clamps to hold the lines so they don't rub. Plus plenty of years experience with these kits and 6.5TD's. We provide these kits to Heath and Peninsular. Always plenty in stock.

Your truck is 4 wheel, oils kit so far is only for 2 wheel correct? Im going to buy a kit for my new engine within the next month...

On my 1993 4x4 truck the oil lines come from the block, back toward the fire wall and up over the inner fender then up to the cooler. I thought all 4x4 were run like that and so was waiting to get my engine back in the truck to mock up a kit for the 4x4.
I just learned something new. Gm ran the oil lines at some point after 93 like a 2wd truck. If thats the case my kit will work on both 2wd and 4x4.

I had a customer install my 2wd drive kit on his 4x4 and he said it work perfectly. I would have thought the engine/ifs crossmember would be in the way.
Can anyone shed some light on how the lines were run for a 4x4 on a later model than my 93, like maybe a 98 model 4x4?

On my 97 they just run straight past the oil pan bolts and to the block. Don't forget about about teh 4x4 oil filter 90degree adapter. Between that and the xover pipe not much room there is the issue I THINK.

I've got mine running between engine and motor mount with a piece of 1"x1" angle attached to the motor mount in the stock bracket location then to the front of the truck. Found a convenient threaded hole in the radiator support to put another bolt through a pair of cable clamps to support the front of the hoses.

It is alot easier to install the NPT-Flare elbows if you remove the 4x4 oil filter adapter (good time to replace the o-rings) Also helps if you have a 1" crowsfoot to tighten the hose to fitting connection.

OK then thats great news. My customer said he had to install the block fittings pointing at a slightly upward angle to help clear the 4x4 oil filter.
Thanks guys.

EDIT: DieselSlug Looks like I have a 4x4 kit afterall.

a big thanks to leroy for his help

i just pulled the oil cooler off for the time being and pluged the holes it is kindof a pai n the ass with a 4x4 beacouse of the oil filter adapter had to lossen it so that it droped down just to get the old hoses off

iv got really funny oil pressure now
after start up it goes to just over 40 as the truck gets warmed up the pressure gets lower and lower untill it is just above the red (i mean is really close to the red) could this be caused by not having the O/C in. i kind of expected to have higher pressure w/o the o/c

just replaced the ops maybe 2 monts ago

that makes sence as it get warmer it gets less and less and being there is no oc it is hotter that it was making in less than it was thanks i didnt put 2 and 2 together

The only thing I will say is I used Lube specialist kit, becareful about the oil cooler. It bolts in either way and I put mine in backwards and was scratching my head. I even trimmed my grille to try and make it fit before I realized it was backwards. Also either kit you must secure the lines with additional clamps and I would put something arounf the Oil dipstick or the lines will eventually cut it. It also makes changing the oil filter a bit of a PIA but atleast they won't leak or pop off like the factory lines.

i was wondering if there was a way to relocate the oil filter cause it is a pain to change it now?

any one know where to get the seals for the oil filter adapter for the 4 wheel drives i had to take it lose to get the old lines off and its leakin pretty good now so i guess i got to take it down and put new seals in
i chaeck the parts store and they couldnt find it they had a set in there help section but it said 6.5 94 through 2000 so i guess it dont work on mine couldnt find it on rock auto either. anyone know where to get the darn thing

In my instructions I give GM part numbers for the o-rings. Some parts stores can cross those numbers.

I am not sure if it is correct but Matuva posted this in the other forum:

O-Ring for filter adapter set: Dorman #82560 from Rock Auto
