OBDII

All it will do on our trucks is read codes. To my knowledge the only bi directional scan tools availible for 6.5 OBDII is either a GM Vetronix Tech2(about 4500$ new) or Autoenginuity software with proper module.

Sure you can. I set my TDCO with it and will attempt a speedometer calibration with it within the next month. You can also cut individual injectors off for diagnostics. While it is a confusing tool to use it is very much worth the money just for the TDCO alone.

Okay, now you have my attention. I've been trying to set TDCO manually then CHECKING it with CarCode. Can you walk me through how you are actually setting TDCO with CarCode?
Thanks,
Mike

Sure not a problem. It has been a while since I have done it and I need to check mine anyway. Give me a few days to get my notes together.

No special card needed. You download the data definitions for the 6.5 diesels and use them in conjunction with the software. BTW, the software is free. You can download it and play around with a sample file that is included. The $122 is buying the proprietary cable to provide an interface with the PCM.

It is not as user friendly as a lot of people would like it to be. It took me a couple of weeks of constant playing to figure out how to perform a TDCO. That is why I want a couple of days to get my notes together before I state how it's done. It is a tricky operation to set the TDCO using this tool. I am not sure if it's tricky with other tools. Patience is definitely required when using this tool. My recommendation to you is to download the the software and get familiar with it. In the meantime I will document all of the steps to successfully perform a TDCO on the 6.5.
