You can clear the codes by pressing the brake and accelerator pedals fully while terminals A and B connected.

The easiest way to clear codes is to remove the fuse for ECM for 30 seconds. Done it several times and checked several times with a scanner to make sure that it cleared the code. (This recommendation is per the Chilton manual)

I'm gonna add a slightly different description and diagram...

Under your steering column, you have an ALDL plug that looks like the attached picture. With the key off, take a metal paper clip (or another suitable jumper wire) and place the ends in holes A and B. Get a piece of paper and pencil handy, watch the SES light on your dash (beside the speedometer), and turn the key to the ON position. The SES light should start flashing.

flash-(pause)-flash-flash-(long pause) ... that's a code 12. Means it is about to start sending you codes. It will end with a code 12, too.

everything in between the 12's on each end will be repeated 3 times. Write them down as they come up. For instance, you could get:

12-17-18-35-36-71-12

That means you have codes 17, 18, 35, 36, and 71

When you're done, and the codes are all written down, clear them by pushing the brake and accelerator pedals to the floor, hold them for 15 seconds, let them up, push them down again, hold, and turn the key off.

Turning the key on again should get you only a repeating code 12 (all is well).

Shut the key off, remove the jumper.

NEVER put the jumper in or take it out with the key on!!

Have to contribute to your scenario. Because my 94 doesn’t throw the 12 code if I have DTC’s. It begins with the first code in the series of codes or the one code that it gives. If I look for DTC’s and there are none then I get the code 12 in repeat only. I have also read others scenarios where they didn’t get the code 12 as well when other codes were present. Just wanted to say that with DTC’s present you may not start with code 12.

Should someone fix G pin location in the first mail picture?
Fuel Prime G pin is correctly in JiFaire's picture (ALDL)

I'll second that,, my 94 also see's no code 12 when others are present.

Maybe its just a 94 thing.:prrr:
