No dash lights, I have indicator lights and gauges.

1994 K3500

The truck starts and runs fine. The Headlights work. The dome light will come on if you turn the dimmer dial up.

The under dash Fuses are all good.

I do not have any dash lights that light up the speedometer and such. It's a pain driving in the dark.

I tried a new dimmer with no results. Where do I need to check for power?

Any ideas? Any good places to start tracing stuff?

I'd be looking at the headlight switch and then the ign switch

They came back on while I was messing with it. I'm assuming a bad connection someplace. I'll worry about it the next time it happens. LOL

when the ol paddle style switch goes bad, you will start losing dash lights. I have a spare switch in a box with me at all times, and keep going on the original. sometimes you have to wiggle the parking light half till they come on, then hit the headlight one.

On the 89 I pulled the switch, bought some spade connectors and wire at Farm & Fleet. Got the right combination of wires connected and drove home. It was not quite as handy as a switch thoughj

Headlight switch, I've changed mine 3 times. You also should notice that there are no tail or parking lights illuminated if the dash lights are all out.

You can always redneck it! The toggle below the switch also turns on the parking/dash lights.
