Nitrogen V Oxygen

I work for an HVAC company so we have lots of Nitrogen and a Vacuum pump so with the 12" wheels on my Pop-up I sucked them to 1inch of vacuum and filled them with Nitrogen. They have held the 65 psi I set them to for 2 years.

1" HG would reduce Baro by ~1/2lb, which would then = ~14psia

I was afraid if I pulled a stronger Vacuum I would just break the bead.

I just put new tires on the truck and I am thinking of doing it with them.

One of the HVAC mechanics made me up the adapter for the Pump and the tank.

Right, and no prob - just indicating that it would be nigh on to impossible to evacuate all atmosphere from inside the tire\rim - whuffing with nitrogen to seat the bead would be only method

Maybe I will try re seating the truck tires with the Nitrogen.
Costco does it for free by the way if you are getting other service there. Good leader since a tank refill is around $12 for my company.

The US Army uses it in all their aircraft tires and shocks. It is great for tires, the tire pressure does not change with temp with nitrogen like it does with air. So you can keep a steady pressure in your tires.
