This one was acting up for a while now by the start stall issue until warm up, now it's just dead.

I have some old black ones I'll sort through as a backup until the purchase of another grey to install on the dual FSD cooling plates I run for redundancy.
 
I had a new Stanadyne grey PMD in my bumper on a cooler for 2 years and it crapped out in July. I bought Leroy's kit and am running a Flight Systems with no issue.
 
When I had to buy a PMD last year, Leroy told me that he has fewer warranty claims on the Flight Systems than he does on the Stanadyne. So that's the way I went.

Fellow Traveler, how often are you changing PMDs? what does your PMD cooler look like, and where is it mounted?

IMO the cooler is more important than the PMD. a poorly designed cooler will kill even the best PMD.

Not too frequently, the two coolers w/grey drivers are big as you can see they are mounted up front. I monitor the temps and they never get more than just warm to the touch.
 
Hard to tell from picture, but looks like an all black stranded wire cable? if yes possible Chinese cable and those = junk.
Also the angle of it looks like it has the wires very sharply bent right after the connector? and finaly you can fatiuge the wires to the point they break if the cable is allowed to flap in the wind. Zip tie cable down real good.
I would check the cable is good by bypassing it and see if problem go's away.
 
I mounted the PMD above the bumper before similar to FT.
My burb have similar bumper, may be not as good looking as FT's.

Then, in the summer, it gets hot from the sun instead of the PMD.
So I moved it under. It is cool to the touch.

Airflow is not the only factor, Sun ray can be more detrimental.
I guess, the TX sun is strong.
Of course, that does not matter if you live in an area where it rains/cloudy 90% of the time.

By the way, I have a Grey Stanadyne bite the dust 2 months ago.
Good thing I have a spare, an old Black Stanadyne.
I got a new FS from Leroy and it is in the bumper now.

The cable you see is just a short section I stuck in the grill that goes nowhere I use the plug to keep dirt out of the FSD that is not in use. As cable goes its made in the US of A and all I did was move it to the good FSD and kept going.
 
How do you have the ground wires configured? Is the ground from short IP harness under intake still on the IP?
The bottom one in picture has dummy plug in it? Im suspect of the cable in the upper PMD. Have you bypassed the cable and just pluged back in to short IP harness?

Yes, original ground is in place at IP the bottom is the dummy which I move back and forth as needed when there is a failure and I must say w/black FSD it was switched often. Talk to me!
 
I would try moving the best PMD back up to engine to eliminate the cable as the potential source of problem. or try new cable.
