Nice and clean rig ;)

Your turbo will whistle after you get rid of the cat (the one on exhaust line, keep the other one who hunts mice ;) ), and with high flow air filter.
Your rig being a 1996, ther's no turbo silencer on it.

Make sure it is properly actuated : as soon as the engine runs, the vacuum canister on the turbo locks the wastegate closed. You'll see the rod of canister pulling up the wastegate lever and holding it stuck.
You must not be able to push it down. If you can push the lever down easy, then your turbo actuation is not working.
In that case, check vacuum pump, vacuum lines, boost solenoid...

and welcome to TTS

Im installing a turbo master today, And a boost gauge and ive heard setting the boost at about 11psi is safe with a stock motor is this true?

Sweet thanks i made my own turbo master i got 3 springs im going to try out see what one works the best, i will take some pictures of the turbo master for everyone to see

10-11 PSI should be fine with stock ECM, but, coupled with the boost gauge, I will recommend you to install EGT gauge too. Don't go over 1 200° F

Yeah i plan on getting a EGT installed within the next 2 weeks, i have to do upgrades slowly so my wife dosent freak out lol

Does anyone have a write up on how to install EGT with photos maybe?
