Well, I brought home a new (to me) ride today. It's a 94 K2500 Suburban, 6.5 of course.

Haven't dug too deep into checking it out yet, just got home a little while ago and it's getting dark. It has, what seems to me to be, all the options on it. Power windows and locks, tilt, cruise, power drivers seat, rear A/C, luggage rack, reese hitch, 3rd row seats, rear window defroster, and power mirrors to name a few off the top of my head.

I see that it has a Heath PMD relocator on it already, so that's a definate plus. Other than that, it looks very stock under the hood. Still has the original exhaust and muffler, factory air box, and factory wastegate setup. Looks like it has a brand new starter on it and it does have red top optima's in it too. I drove it about 150 miles home and it ran just fine. No check engine lights, excessive smoke, or any hiccups. The interior needs a good cleaning, but other than that is in really good shape and the exterior is not bad at all either, no rust anywhere on it. It's missing the front bumper.... not sure where that went, there isn't any damage or scratches to anything on the front like it may have bumped into something at some point, so who knows. I got a nice chrome brush gaurd with fog lights with the deal too.

I don't know what gears are in it yet, but they don't seem like 4.10's. At 70 mph, according to the GPS, it was turning 2150 RPM. I am guessing 3.73's, but we'll see for sure in a few days.

I posted a few pics of it, they are the ones the owner had sent me. I will take a lot more tomorrow and post more about the truck as I look it over more. Oh.... I almost forgot.... It has " REAL TRUCKS DON'T NEED SPARK PLUGS " across the top of the windsheild. Sweet huh?

Yea, I was leaning toward the burb anyway when I posted the poll. It's more versatle, does everything the truck does plus it can haul more passangers if needed.

That is a very nice and very clean truck! I'm a big fan of the emerald green metallic colour. I had a 98 in that colour and i didn't like it at first, but it grew on me the first time i did a good wash and wax to it (it was covered in scratches and swirl marks).

Once i got it shining good, it became one of my favorite colours for the GMT-400's

Looking over the RPO codes for the burb today and came across this one.

SLL SOLD ORDERS SOLD ORDER(SLL)

Would this mean the truck was "special ordered" by the original owner?

That's how I would interpret it but that could just mean his dealer wouldn't order or trade for what he wanted.
That's a mighty nice find there by the way...

Thanks fellas.....

After checking it out a little more in-depth yesterday after work I saw that it had a pretty good oil leak on the left side of the engine coming from the valve cover. I got the gaskets to fix the leak, but it's a pretty long process.... gotta remove injector lines to get the valve cover off, gotta remove the intake manifold to get the injector lines off, gotta remove the turbo to get the passenger side cover off..... etc etc So in the mean time, I figured I would put a wrench on the valve cover bolts, just to see if they were "tight enough". It turns out each valve cover bolt on the drivers side tightened up at least 3 full turns. Hopefully that fixes that leak all together.

I also put the grille guard / bumper on last night. I got it with the truck and, while it isn't the best looking thing ever, at least it checks the block for having a bumper on the truck.

I started "treasure hunting" under the seats and in the glove box like you need to do with any used vehicle. I ended up finding a big handful of receipts from repairs the previous owners had done and I found a brand new bag of ratchet straps... probably 10 of them under the back seat. I still have to sit down and sort through the receipts to see what that's all about.

Yeah the grill guard slash bumper thingy is not pretty at all.

Hope snugging up the valve cover bolts does the job. It's always fun to find those used truck treasures under the seat.

Well, the good news is that tightning the valve cover fixed that leak. I spent some time tonight wiping it down and looking for more leaks while it was idling. The oil filter adapter is seeping between the adapter and the block too. I already ordered the 3 o-rings for it, but for the mean time, I tightened the bolt about 1/4 turn and it slowed down quite a bit.

That's the last obvious leak I see. Once I get the new o-rings in it I will degrease everything really good and take another look around.

On the bright side...... it's keeping the front driveshaft from rusting.....

I like that front bumper thingy. recken it wouldnt do much in a crash, but it looks ba-ha style or something! differant is good! nice rig!
