Hi Everybody,

I have lurked for awhile, but now is time to start posting :) I recently bought a very clean 1994 Crew Cab dually 4wd. My original intention was to do a cummins swap, but after driving the 6.5l I am now not sure. I really like the way the 6.5 drives, but am not sure if it will pull my 6700# 25' fifth wheel camper. The truck has 3.73 gear ratio! Please give feedback if this is too much for this truck and the Idaho mountain passes.

P.S

Truck is stock now, except for 3" straight pipe and PMD relocate. If I keep the 6.5, I would do the cooling upgrades along with ATT/KOJO.

Thanks,

Shane

Welcome to The Truck Stop Shane! THAT'S a nice find you got there! Good lookin' truck for sure.
6700# behind that dually will seem like nothing once these 6.5 experts here get through spending your money on it!:hihi:

x2

First thing I want to spend your money on is exh and gauges. Then the ATT and Kojo tune

BTW welcome to TTS

6700lbs is nothing for sure, thats a keeper with a few necessary mods.

gauges and 4" exhaust as already said, OPS relay mod, Feed the Beast, higher power lift pump, K47 Air Filter Box change, upgraded PCM EPROM, then if thats not enough for you the A Team Turbo will make it all even better.

Welcome! She sure is pretty! Fill out your signature so we know more about her!

How many miles on the ol' gal?
About 156,000 miles on her! Must have had an easy life because interior is like brand new, and inside of box has only very minor scratches (no dents, no gooseneck hitch, and no fifth wheel hitch) :)

And walkingJ is located here in Boise.....depending on how I look at it, this could be good or bad :)

Welcome & great looking truck!

If the motor has been cared for like the exterior & interior that should serve you well, with the addition of a few mods...

The 6.5 is a great motor that will get the job done as long as it has never been abused / overheated.

IME the return on the performance mods has been very satisfying...ENJOY!

OPS and relay mod with 93 lift pump and relocate the pmd with a heatsink and extension cable would be my #1 piece of mind mods.
EGT,boost, trans temp and post filter fuel pressure guages followed by 4" exhaust and 2 1/2" crossover, then any and all cooling mods, feed the beast and ecm tune.
Intercooler or water methanol injection or both and if you really want to get carried away propane injection.
