Welcome to The Truck Stop!
Why g to 12v.? A simple isolator and you can run radio, extra lighting, etc. on 12v. and still have the easier starting and better charging system. Just pick up a extra parts ahead of time so there is no waiting when you need, like starter etc. Your still going to have to have 2 batteries anyways. Newer cars are going to a 36v. system really soon.
Not trying to talk you out of it, I just don't know the advantages.
Welcome, got pic's.
Thankyou, sadly the Malibus moter gave up on Easter Sunday of this year,it was running mid 12s in quarter mile. And then my work car with 185k died shortly after,so now its just me and my 1009.Im trying to decide on new motor for Malibu .And the boom sticks shoot better than they look! Someday the truck will be kinda pretty too!The truck looks tough, which is how a truck is supposed to be. The Malibu and boom sticks are pretty, though.
Im to lazy to search, someone post a link for me/us.
Welcome. As it's you only vehicle I suggest the only thing you do to it now it keep it running - no "projects". Projects take time and money and suck when they don't go well and finish up before the Monday AM commute.
24v is hands down the faster way to start the engine. Esp. with an old and worn IP. If 24v parts are short you gotta do what you gotta do.
