My trucks are getting their Pre Summer work over. My GM3 kicked the bucket and now I have a HX35 that is sounding like the cure but I need an exhaust and crossover first, I was thinking diamond eye but I just wanted to know if there were any vendors selling them.

Also I have had some thoughts of 6inch bull haulers since it is gonna sound like a semi anyways. Anyone know a good place to piece together a stack set up?

Diamondeye doesn't make the exhaust crossover. I get mine from egay seller ashlandmuffler or something like that. Alligator performance may be a site vendor. They sell diamondeye or tvdiesel is where I've gotten it from. Expect right close to $300 to your door for the diamondeye system with polished stainless muffler. Tip is extra. Walt sells some kind of stack kit if that's what bull haulers are.
The heartthrob systems are designed for 92-93 trucks and come with the correct hangers for them. Diamondeye is 94+ which uses different hangers. This is heartthrobs retail/web store: http://www.mufflermonster.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.quicksearch&hreset=true It's $100 more than diamondeye. Doesn't go on near as easy either. I've done both. I use stainless band clamps now instead of regular muffler clamps. It can easily be taken apart at a future date, with the band clamps.

I seem to have read somewhere you might see about becoming a Dealer for heart throb?

I might see about getting a heart throb and warpspeed crossover, I have heard some of the ebay crossovers need modified to fit and i dont have the means to modify anything at the moment.

I looked at walts kit and it is a 5 inch turn out set up. Bull haulers have ~45* sharp bend and ~12inches of pipe after that. I will see if I can find a link to a picture. I might get walts kit and resale the 5in stacks if it comes down to that.

I know not everyone agrees with the look of stacks but I appreciate any help I can get.

The 2 ashland crossovers I have fit good. I don't think warpspeed makes them any longer. Ashland is identical to the warpspeed design.
The only reason I'm looking into becoming a Heartthrob dealer is that they make stainless pipes. No one else does, that I know of.

I have a warpspeed crossover, was a PITA to install. Not quite the right fitment, but its on there, had to flatten a part of it out where it hit the block casting. Really interested in seeing the HX-35 install as i have a WH1C and intercooler sitting in my basement, WH1C is the exact same as an HX but has a different style clamp to hold the compressor to exhaust portion. I dont mind the look of the bull haulers. If i was to do stacks i would get simple turn outs. But i cant loose my tonneau cover. I need all the space i can get.

Well I don't think I will get the bull haulers yet, I spent all weekend piecieng together kits and comparing costs and I just dont have $900 for an exhaust at the moment but I will be getting a heart throb kit and crossover. HX-35 is still going on too.

I HAVE to get this truck all together soon now. My 95 is eating coolant and gaining oil :mad2: . Looks like i get to do an engine build and it will be in a go big or go home fashion. :D

Well I'm not sure if it helps at all but I had ordered an exhaust from Alligator performance(who is a vendor here I might add), for about $220 to my school here in PA. They do free shipping for orders over $49.99 too... I'm installing the exhaust tomorrow in open shop for class so if your interested I'll let you know how the instal goes and weather or not I like the kit and would recommend it to others. I ordered there muffler-less kit as I'll be installing the 4" SS MBRP muffler I had bought for big Blue a while back but just didn't use that much so it may have a different tone than the traditional Diamond eye systems.

That would be great!

As said earlier though 93's have different hangers than 95's. I am pretty sure I have read SS sells heartthrob so your muffler might be the same as the heart throb i am thinking of ordering.

I would like to order through a local vendor for TTS but I also want a simple install since it will be a driveway job.

Well I'll put up some pics and perhaps even a video of tomorrows progress. Worst comes to worst if you really wanted to places like pepboys and autozone sell thos universal muffler/exhaust hangers. There completely adjustable and only use I think 2 bolts for the whole assembly. Perhaps you could get creative with it and see how it works out that way, that or if your savvy with a welder :D

I can weld but I dont have a welder available. :(

220+new hangers instead of 400 would be nice but I need to get the truck moving ASAP.

I guess I could drive 150 miles with an open HX 35 to get to my welder.. lol

The hangers from a 94+ could be had from a junkyard for cheap.[gasser should be the same] They bolt on to the frame the same as the 93- style does. The hangers that come with the diamondeye system work great. I got the 4" stainless steel band clamps from napa. About $8 each.

Big Blue is straight piped. And with the MBRP muffler on there its a MAJOR difference. Way louder and more aggressive. With the muffler on there its way toned down. You can actually have a conversation with someone in the truck without having to raise your voice to speak over the continuous thunderclap coming out of the stacks. Actually, thats how Big Blue got the nickname "SkyFire" Because it sounded like a crack of lightning when you snapped the throttle, and as you accelerate it sounds like thunder.

The green truck has more or less become like my "prove people wrong project". Its a quiet little diesel... in a 1500, with 4 wheel drive, and it gets 26mpg doing 65 on the highway unloaded. You mention that to people and all of sudden they go from the usual "there slow, smelly, and loud" to "tell me more?"

My truck is loud inside as long as your on the throttle. I wouldn't mind it being quieter. I really like the sound but Ive always liked a nice quiet truck.

Well if your looking for a little quieter I have had great success so far with the MBRP 4" stainless steel muffler. No drone and it has a great sound to it with the internal fins facing the "wrong direction". If your looking for way quieter I'd say look into that giant CORSA muffler that Fermanator installed on his burban after he did the DMAX/ALLY swap. He seems happy with that thing.

That or perhaps add a resonator in to the mix just to calm the noise down a little bit. Worst comers to worst someone comes along and tries to get emmisions crazy in your state and you just say its a giant cat converter from an old detroit or something.

Ill keep the straight pipe for now but I may go with a muffler later on. I could just pip the pipe off the down pipe and add in a muffler. It would be a easy job.
