I had the carpets done by a neighbor in the biz. He brought in his team and vacuumed and steam cleaned for about 3.5 hours. Shouldn't have bothered. The carpet looks great, even with the slight staining pulled up from the padding but, I was working another project and lifted the carpet around the drivers side and there's so much dirt in the crevasas where the sill plates and kick panels cover the edges that the paint is rubbed off and surface rust has started. As I lifted the carpet further towards the driveline tunnel, more surface rusting. Seat belt mount at the floor level is covered in surface rust and the bolt stops half way out (penetrating oil and slow tightening to get it in the threads. Carpet is coming out today and immediate treatment starting to keep the floor pans from getting eaten out from the top down. I hit the visible stuff with some 'rust converter' for the fun of it but, Sanding and sealing are the only way. Trying to remove stuff and I've got a couple of frozen bolts. Impact wrench only busted the Star #50 socket and I don't have a carbon drill bit that size so, I'll cut it off with a dremel and just 'nut it' afterwards. Trying to remove the spare tire cup, in the back, the welded nuts aren't welded anymore.

Looks like I'm in for a project folks! Starting a new thread in that section I guess.

Follow on to answer the Headlight question. I'm sticking with Halogen bulbs. They seem like fair quality. Same construction as the current units I have on the truck. Those I got from LMC and they are better than a different set up I purchased and sent back. They have the Bulb Cap on the low beam side that my current ones have and despite running the Superwhatevers from Sylvania, those have stayed put. I recall that you'd had an issue with then falling out of a set while running the HIDs. I'm not going the HID route though, had enough fun with those things. Definitely not putting them in the reverse light sockets!

I love my HID headlights. The key with the bulb caps is to have the bracket attached to the back wall of the light and the bracket edge should be perpendicular to the back. Lot harder to melt or droop with that configuration. Otherwise, can't beat the light output. Tail lights, I could careless. Incandescents work just fine.

We're definitely on for the Stanford @ BYU game on the 7th, which will have us going by on the 8th in the AM.

I have some of those star bolts for the luggage loops and whatnot you're trying to remove to get the carpet out. Let me know.

Yes, thank you, I'll take some. I'm counting probabley 5 now. One definitely for the rear seat, driver's side. Two luggage loops and one, maybe two seatbelt (rear) are currently fighting back. I'll know for certain in a bit.
