Need some electrical info from the experts

That was my intent. I did extend a couple of grounds using OEM braided straps, brake master cylinder to bulkhead for example using OEM ground screws.
Thanks for the info, that's the reason I joined this forum. Great people that know what the are talking about. Richard

Helo gentlemen, I am still working on the wiring on this 1996 K2500 H.D. I have repaired or removed the excess wiring for the radio. The previous owner was a firm believer in " abandon in place". Behind the driver side kick panel I found a rats nest of wiring I can not explain. I can guarantee what I saw was not OEM or even an in plant repair. Parts of the wiring was hanging down and some exposed from under the seal plate. I checked the windows and locks and everything is working. Some of the wiring that I removed looked like LED stuff. If anyone has any ideas as to what this is I wouli really appreciate it. Richard

My 2000 Chevy as a lot of abandoned wires run through it, I need to make a couple of passes and eliminate all of them.
Amp, extra speakers, fog/running lamps that had been removed, an auxilliary fuel tank pump that had been wired to an in cab toggle switch and a few others that i cant think of right now. LOL
One nice thing that had been added was an extra glow plug relay. Have not yet had to use it other than to try it out to make sure it works.

Those relays might be running power to those lights up top.
Only way to know is power them up or follow the wires.

Looks like he just didn’t learn proper technique yet to me. Probably a high school kid in learning process.

Well the wiring issues are somewhat completed. I say somewhat because I haven't checked the parasitic draw I was seeing. I even found a four foot section of 12-2 romex spliced in under the I.P. I have a lot of wires and relays in the shop floor around the truck so I will gather it all up together and snap a couple of photos to post. While digging around under the seal plate and carpet I saw the two passenger seat track bolts were just finger started.
Now heres you something to laugh at. The park brake needed some repair work to make it functional. If you have ever removed or replaced one you know it can be a real pain. Anyway I removed and repaired and was ready to install. I had needed tools in floor board so I layed in the floor and proceeded, forgetting to connect the brake cable to the e-brake ratchet. O.K. I'll connect later. I slid under the truck and disconnected the cable at the slip joint to allow enough slack at the e-brake ratchet. Two minutes ant the e-brake is connected. I wend back under to connect the slip joint cable connection. I pulled with everything I had, clamped vice grips on cable at cable guide bracket. I was still one inch short. I screamed at the truck and called it a bunch of names and be damned if the vice grips didn't come a lose and hit me rightIN THE NOSE, SMACK BETWEEN MY EYES. Truck-1 Richard -0. I cleaned the blood off and looked at it thinking of another way to do this. BINGO, I have it. Went to the barn and got the barb wire stretcher, hooked one end on a frame bracket and the other end on the cable. Two little jackings and I had enough slack to connect the cables. WAA LA, DONE. Truck -1 Richard -1. Y'all have a great evening, Richard.

No sir, I don't have any strength in my left arm and shoulder and need to come up with new ways to perform tasks. It is kinda messed up like the rest of me. A good friend ask me the same question just before this writing. Thank you for thinking about that, if you read a post from me that creates a question please ask because it may be something I overlooked. I do appreciate your thoughts. That goes for everyone. Oh yeah, my nose is sore this morning. LOL. Richard.

I thought that was a most excellent idea to use the fence wire stretcher.
I one time, when laying under a truck, dropped a rod cap, that thing hit Me right between the eyes, left a real neat little three cornered cut and dent where the corner of the cap struck Me. LOL

Well after all the clean up work I still have a 7.64 parasitic draw. I guess tomorrow I start verifying fuse and breaker amperage and location, then start pulling fuses.
On the brighter side I did complete the new power distribution box I dreamed up. After I complete runing the new prestolite cables I'll post pictures. I used 5/16th nickel coated copper as buss bar. I think when completed this will be a great set-up. Richard.

After removing the remains of an electrical hack job I still have the 7.5 amp parasitic draw. Pulled all fuses one at a time on the I.P fuse panel and the big box next to the E.C.M. Unplugged three wires on the E.C.M." red white and black. No change. Tomorrow I will remove ecm and unplug them all. Next will be the alternator. Everything looks like factory now, neat and clean. Any advice?? Thank y'all, Richard.

Hey Will, this is a gasser with a single 4000 amp battery. No I did not punch in too many zeros. It's about 150 lbs. if memory serves me correctly. Located in the bed tool box. Damn thing takes up a lot of room with battery box.
