So I am still trying to come up with a game plan for this HX40 install. Its a 4" V band outlet on the turbo, like on a Dodge, where the down pipe meets the turbo from behind, not like on a 6.5 where the down pipe comes up underneath an elbow. I will be running a 4" diamond eye system, with the 3" down pipe. So we need to get the 4" outlet on the turbo down to 3" on the down pipe. So far, what I am thinking is getting a short radius 4" elbow, welding a 4" v band fitting on one end for the turbo, and then cutting, notching, hammering, and welding a 3" v band fitting onto the other end for the down pipe.

Picture help would be excellent, what are you guys running for down pipes on Holset HX40's?

I made this for mine, not exactly like you plan but a pic still.... there are more pics in my album you can see if needed...

Thanks for the pic, nice fab work! I got measurements from a friend of the reach of the stock elbow, and I think it will clear if we use 4".

Tuesday is going to be the parts gathering day. 3.5" tight radius elbow, 3" vband flange, 4" vband flange. Then its time for fabrication.
