i need help i found an engine for my 93 chevy but it has the center mount turbo... are the heads different for the center mount turbo engines... the engine is set up on 24 volt system but thats no big deal for me... the only problem is im not sure if i would need to changs the heads to the side mount turbo heads.... maybe im wrong is there a difference in the heads.... only reason im concerned is the heads i took of my engine are junk

I am pretty sure they a the same, I bet you will need to use your old manifolds though. Trying to fit a center mount turbo in a truck would be cool though!

yea im wanting to use my old manifolds with my a team turbo... but i just wanted to make sure the heads were the same

You probably get a 6.5 from a van, bus or Humvee, which all have the central turbo setup. Intake manifold bolts are not angled the same way, so your manifolds won't fit.

To keep using your ATT, you must transplant your heads and manifolds on this new block

Sounds like a military Hummer engine. Heads are different, as are manifolds, turbo and related plumbing. Probably oil pan and oil pump as well.

On the over seas right hand drive trucks they use the center mount turbo setup like the vans do so it may all fit in there.
If your pulling the motor anyways see if the center mount turbo engine will drop in there.

the motor went for more then what i wanted to spend for it, but i bet it would of fit in my truck with the 3inch body lift i have on the truck,,, the guy who was selling the engine says he has a 6.2 so i think im going to check it out... need to get the truck going soon my 01 z71 is getting a work out trying to pull wagons full of corn....

I was thinking a center mount turbo shifted slightly toward the rear of the engine compartment (relocated fuel manager would be a must) would work well if it fit. I have never seen a center mount van style set up but I bet it would work. Custom headers might make this better. Squeeze this under a cowl hood of some sort.
