My trip, the lil 6.2 that could!

Glad you are doing well. Hope the operation helped. You should look into state programs to get your vehicle modified with hand controls. May help you out getting around anyway.

Hello my friends, home now, very naeousous, surgery went sell, no driving , no walking without crutches, no weight bearing on toes. Will wroite more laters, Bill

Excellent news Bill... Don't forget about your friends here...we're behind you all the way

Just like all the others have said Bill, good to hear from you, and we're pulling for you. Keep us informed how you're doing.

Don

Glad to hear everything went without a hitch. Wishing you a speedy and uneventful recovery, Bill!

Hello, went to the followup postop appt today. Found out I had 8 separite surgurcical procedures to my toes, that was three more than he expected because the contracture was so severe. Arthritus, what can u say? Anyway my foot looks less swollen n better color than he expected. I wear some kinda electronic magnrtic pulse thing that was with me in the recovery room, it was on my foot when I awoke and I wear it 3 hrs a day. I told him the info in the box that came with it said it was not Medicare approved and Medicare would not pay for it. So I ask him where it came from n he said he wrote the order for it and not to worry about the payment that " once you get one Bill they dont ask for them back"! LOL Gotta love a good doctor guys! By the way I am convinced this gizmo came from reverse engineering the pulse imitors on that spaceship they found in Area 51 !!!!!! So this thingy should decrease bone healing time by up to a third! Here I come great western trip part 2!!!! Thank all of yall for the moral support, I finally feel now that I got the operation that there might be a end to the problems and a chance to live a little!

Careful with that thing on your foot, Bill. You might just find all sorts of missing paper clips, bottle caps, nuts, bolts, etc sticking to your foot!!:hihi::eek: Also, be careful where you put your foot up to rest, you don't want to accidentally erase your ATM or credit cards!:WTF::rof:

Keep thinking positive Bill, attitude is so important to the healing process. Maybe you work on ideas where you can find a use for that thing later on to help the truck!

Well, we used to use big electromagnets to degauss (erase) in bulk cassette tapes and reel to reel tapes back in the '70's. As long as there was no power applied, you were fine. Used to buy degaussers at Radio Shack, back when they were a REAL electronics hobbyist store and not a Jr. Best Buy wannabe. Of course you want to keep credit and debit cards away from strong fields like speaker magnets. I accidentally erased my D.C. Metro fare ticket with about $3 still loaded on it by putting it near my cell phone holster. The booth attendant said that happens all the time, and over rode the turnstile so I could get out.

I feel bad, The Lil 6.2 is just sitting there quietly rusting and who knows what the witches brew I burn is doing with sitting in the fuel tank! LOL Yall need to come drive her, guess I better get a friend to take her around the block every 10 days or so. So the operation did good, went to the surgeon for a followup and to change dressings. Looks horrible, swollen, black and blue, toes got steel rods sticking out! Yuck Had to do extra procedures in the operation cause the skin itself was contracted so my toes look like they are big black n blue sausages covered with black spiders, the stitches! Oh well the way I see it is not that I am laid up for at least three months but instead that I am counting down to my great western trip starting again!!!!! Hang in there folks I am all but on the way! Best of all no more exploding infected toe bones!
