My Recommended Mnx & Mod List for 1994 and 1995 6.5TDs

Looks like that bypass restriction might just be for the dual stats.
Also looks like ACDelco #251-603 has a press on pulley (spin on ??)...
Is there an Equivalent Pump that uses the non screw on/or pressed on pulley for the other style clutch?

The balanced flow pump for the 2000 model year does not come with the 1/4" restricted bypass fitting as this is not a stock item. This is for the dual thermo crossover setup and has to be added. I got my restrictor from Bill Heath at the same time as I put on the low temp spin on fan clutch to go with the 2000 pump. This was just this past fall.

BJ, I think you may be thinking of Heath's prior system that he dropped for this restrictor fitting and balanced flow pump.

The dealership actually carries that restrictor item and when I went by they mentioned it and they must have some tech bulletin telling them certain vehicles it must be changed on.

Unfortunately their pricing on water pumps is outrageous.

Interesting about that restrictor. I was under the impression that it was a Heath thing.

As far as the stealership, aren't their prices for most anything outrageous?

OK educate me. Whats this restrictor? where does it go? Will I need it? I just bought everything else to do the conversion

It is the bypass nipple fitting that threads into the water pump, outputs into the thermostat housing. If you have a single T-stat that has the bypass blockoff then the restrictor fitting is not necessary. Its only necessary for the dual tstat housing xover.
