My new to me RV

Glad it turned out ok on the water heater. Good luck on your trip and I hope it is free of any malfunctions. Looks like a great place you are going to. Makes me want to hit the mountains on a camping trip, but I guess most of my camping will be this fall and winter.

I put a hot rod in the water heater in the camper we had. It was electric and saved on propane when we were plugged in at a camp ground. We most always used the camp ground facilities too to save on messing around with the dump station lines and such.

When we were very young we sent the hose into the campsite septic only to find out that we were in the wrong hole. There was another 4" PVC sticking up a couple feet away. We were in the water shut off valve.

I blamed it on them for not having things clearly marked but I knew a water shut off from a septic even back then.

A friend had a similar camper. He put a real bumper on it and towed his boat behind. Worked pretty sweet

That sounds pretty cool!

I want to extend the frame out the back and mount my truck tool box to the back of the camper(on the new extended frame with a hitch mounted below it.

My truck and camper connected together is under 41 feet long. I am allowed a maximum length of 65 feet. Which gives me about 24 feet for my other trailer and hopefully a boat in the future.

A friend of mine just bought a camper with an extendable rear platform. It is about 30" wide when extended and looks like a normal camper bumper when slid in.

Take care if you do that style project to reinforce the frame to hold the weight. You will probably have to make a piece for each side to go all the way to the front of the spring shackles

We had a good time camping. The spot was nice and had all I could ever ask for, here are some pictures:

The pad was paved and had water/electric in 110 or 220. It also had covered picnic table and fire ring:

It also had some green pole as u see in the picture.

The camp grounds was at a local lake. It had a beach, a big slide, and paddle boats. They also have nature trails all over the place. We found out the hard way that walking with a 4 and 2 year old is not fun.

We cant wait to go back for longer than one night. For some reason on this trips my pictures sucked. :mad2:

Like that black Dually.

Thanks! I Love my truck!

Looks like you had a great time.

Love the truck. Dually seems like a huge truck compared to the 5-er.

The truck is probably 2 to 5 feet longer than the RV. The RV is almost 21 feet long from the front to the rear bumper.

We had a blast, my daughter is already asking when we get to go camping again.

Pretty nice looking campsite with a concrete pad and all. Are my eyes playing tricks on me or was that pad sloped up hill? Guess you had to level up the front of the camper. It seems like unless you are going to a KOA, there are no near level campsites in the wild.

It was not even close to being level but, better than dirt!

I have had this camper for sale the last couple of months.

I finally have a buyer. He is suppose to come by sometime this week and give me the cash for the RV.

He already went and got an old 5th wheel hitch for his truck.

When I get rid of this, Holiday Rambler here I come!

The HR are hard to come by for cheap. :mad2:

No kidding. I want a HR so bad I can't stand it. It seems that about 85 to 95 is the prefferred ones to buy as well when they were building them truly out of all aluminum heavy duty construction. I know sometime in 96 MONACO took over and quality took a pretty big hit. Your in luck though as 5th wheels seem to be cheaper as they are limited as to who can haul them, bumper pulls fetch BIG dollars.

The guy finally showed up and purchased this thing. I actually broke even on this RV.

I am glad to have it gone.

Glad you were successful in selling it. Now you can start searching for another one and be ready for some spring camping.
