My 6.5 ran perfect Sunday morning! not the dog like usual. But I don't know why?

agree with bk95td, when was the fuel filter last changed?

could a plugged filter that finally ruptured cause the newfound power?

if the transmission was a 4L60E, that replacement rate would be more realistic. the 4L60E is the car transmission IMHO. the 4L80E transmission is a truck/SUV transmission, and is very durable. I would look into a different rebuild shop.

naw buddy, that's been done. several times over of course. I even blow through the filters and contemplate keeping them. And all that cheaper Mexican fuel that I used to use, same thing- clean...

Just a thought..... maybe the sock in the tank was clogged and the stuff broke loose? Did you use any additives? I put a new sending unit and gas tank on mine this weekend and I swear its like driving a totally different truck! I agree check those filters. I think there is also a tread on here about drilling out the gas cap.

now this is something I heard about. likely story I think. no additives...ooopse, I regularly put up to a half a qt. of of transmission fluid in with a small amount of gas. an old timer showed me this process at a filing station. cleans the injectors, lubricates the pump... what got me willing to try it was: spilling my lucas all over the place one day at the pumps... a big bottle, and all the fuels that people were putting in their tanks a couple of years back. I don't think that it cleans sox...

Instead of the tranny fluid and gasoline, get some "decent" Diesel additive, (Power Service, Standyne, etc.) Power service is pretty common and available at most part stores and then also MOTOR oil.....Either SAE30 (straight 30 weight (non detergent) OR 2 Stroke oil (Ashless TC3W)....Now, when adding these 2 additives, what I do is; 1/2 -1 ounce per gallon on the Power Service....And for the Oil 1 1/2 - 2 oz per gallon of Fuel.

From what has been discussed, the short story is the transmission oil has some additives or detergents that are NOT good for the IP and the fuel system in general.

For What It's Worth (Which is Nuttin!)......This is what the majority of the members use.....You can put whatever you like in your tank.
