My 6.2/6.5 Hybrid (NSF 56K or slower)

Looking at the main bearing, that is VERY characteristic of 'cap walk'.. And the main web cracks I've seen MGW describe ones just like it as the 'death knell'.. But there again, I haven't any experience with Loc-n-stitch inserts.

The crank may clean up at .020. Mic it with a blade mic if you can. Blade mics will get into the grooves for a better idea of how badly the crank is scarred.

One rod is junk for sure. The other ones should be ok with resizing and new bolts. Wrist pin bushings should be looked at too, if not replaced.

whats the crank shaft weigh ...... trying to think what its worth in scrap.......

the crank shaft from my 599 6.5 is fine ..... could a 660 be machined for a 1 piece rear main seal and then be able to accept a 599 crank?......
80lbs maybe. Not impossible to convert but not worth it on a cracked block.

yeah ..... I am thinking I am going to scrap that block...... I want to buy an optimzer drop in but this truck just isn't worth it..... at the end of the day, the transmission still has 200,XXX miles on it. I might just slap the heads on my 599 ... it had burned piston, bent rod, and cracked heads ..... but I didn't see any cracks in the block....

I bought the truck with the intent to put the power train in my Bronco..... the body and the frame are way to rotted on this to justify any major expense.
