Motor Shaking/vibrating

True point about the kit. Im sure the balance mounts are different because on the hummer forum a guy had to modify his adapter for the geared fan drive which is attached to the balancer- different pattern from 6.5 to lmm. The whole point is just to make sure you drill straight.

Maybe ask in the Dmax section or call a shop and find out what diameter the crankshaft is on the dmax. If the crankshafts are different diameters then the drill guide will not do you any good...you would have to lay it out and drill it free hand or make your own guide (in either case there would be no point in shelling out $180 for a kit when all you could use out of it was a dowel and a drill bit)

So true.

Just a thought. My vacuum pump has been making intermittent noises a lot lately. If that is going out is there a chance that that could be causing a vibration?

Yes it might be... Any of the belt driven devices could, but balancer going in and out of position could cause weird load and noises through the belt driving any of the stuff too.
If you can get the vibration, then remove the belt. If the vibration is still there- you know what it is. I would think any other pulley like the vacuum pump would have to be bent fairly bad to cause vibration and would be visible to see the shake.

I looked at all the pulley's with the belt on and couldn't see anything out of whack. It hasn't been vibrating yesterday or today though.

I figured out the problem. Luckily it wasn't my HB it is my A/C compressor. I was sitting at a light and pressed the A/C button to turn the A/C off and the vibration went away. Now I know what I have to do.
