I just put some 37 12.50s on the dually and now every once and a while ill get a miss around 2nd and 3rd. the truck starts to bogg down the it takes off like a bat outa hell! Any ideas, it doesnt do it all the time.

Sounds like a lift pump or IP going out/sticking. Dump about a quart of lucas in the fuel, see if it cleans/frees up the IP.

ill get some today and try it.I just filled up the truck so that will work. Will it matter that i already have a quart of non det 30wt in the tank?

How old is your lift pump and OPS? Have you put a relay on the LP so the OPS isnt powering it? Whart is fuel pressure at idle? Hook up a fuel pressure gauge to the drain line so you can see it while driving and check pressure at WOT.

My SSDS lift pump lasted maybe a year with good fuel pressure. And their HD OPS lasted less than a year.

i replaced the ops a few months back. it is a factory replacement. so it still controlls the lift pump. il have to get a pressure gauge to check it.is there a thread for this lift pump relay mod?

As long as you understand relays its a simple mod. Most automotive relays have the same contacts, 85-86 is the coil that triggers it to switch, 87 is a normally open contact and 30 is the other side of the swith to contact 87. 87a is in the center of a double throw (SPDT) relay, and is normally closed to contact 30 (not needed in this application). You want to actuate the relay coil when the OPS is passing power.

I like the Walbro FRB-5 that I purchased from through PMDcable.com, but I think you have to just contact Leroy for it. I just cut my steel lines, but if you want to keep them the way they are Leroy also sells metric fittings to adapt them to hose.

That or an all in one system like an Airdog is real nice.

Just get a 92-93 ac/delco lift pump, there usually all you'll need. If your OPS wasn't ac/delco, its prolly toast by now, the others dont last very long.

The OPS/relay mod will make your lift pump and OPS last alot longer.

For the Walbro. You just have to message Leroy, he is member Burning Oil. Or purchase through LubeSpecialists.com, but Leroy has great customer service.

It will outlast and stock type, and its about $100. Just know youll have to mount it custom and adapt the lines, so there is some work and little more cost.

You can see mine in This Thread

HERE IS A OPS RELAY WRITE UP

HERE IS FUEL DELIVERY INFO AND CHECK OUT MY POSTS ON YOUR LP POWER

In this diagram, you can see you are just cutting and putting a relay in line on the grey wire that outputs power from the OPS that goes to the LP.
