Was working on my truck under the hood and finished and needed to put some brake fluid in it so I just shut it enough to keep bugs etc out while I fed up the horses and got the brake fluid out of the barn. Didnt have a bottle so got in the truck to drive to town and the hood flew up because I forgot to shut it before leaving. Fortunately I was driving real pokey and so it flew up and bent the hood on each side where the hinges bolt! It still shuts good but it sorta dips down over the hinges and goes up slightly above the fenders as u get close to the front. I feel so bad and the worst is I cant see anything but the screwed up hood when I am driving. I gues there is no fixing it is there????? My truck was so purty and straight body everywhere! Very stupid thing to do......:mad2:
Now that is way cool Pepp, err Paul. U gonna have it again?
I got a few cars and trucks sittin here i haven't opened the hood for several years:hihi:When I was 17, I had an 86 Camaro that a body shop did work on and then the hood latch never worked right no matter how many times we would adjust it. Couldnt get it to pop open without a fight and some banging. Driving down a country road at about 60mph I hit a pot hole and the hood flew up, ripped the fenders and wrapped around the top of the car denting it all in and cracking the windshield everywhere. The dome light cover actually hit me in the head when it blew apart. Slowed down with my head out of the window and peeled the hood off the roof and bent the contorted metal as flat as I could and it latched by the hook only and drove home 20 miles looking through the cracks. That sucked, and I had probably attempeted to pop the hood like a few months earlier and didnt get it open and then it wasnt fully latched. Imagine that, not having to pop the hood for several months at a time :)
