Messed up my truck hood today, I feel so bad!

IMO the truck now matches the man, a little worse for wear but still kicking a$$.:D

Was working on my truck under the hood and finished and needed to put some brake fluid in it so I just shut it enough to keep bugs etc out while I fed up the horses and got the brake fluid out of the barn. Didnt have a bottle so got in the truck to drive to town and the hood flew up because I forgot to shut it before leaving. Fortunately I was driving real pokey and so it flew up and bent the hood on each side where the hinges bolt! It still shuts good but it sorta dips down over the hinges and goes up slightly above the fenders as u get close to the front. I feel so bad and the worst is I cant see anything but the screwed up hood when I am driving. I gues there is no fixing it is there????? My truck was so purty and straight body everywhere! Very stupid thing to do......:mad2: :(:(

If it makes you feel better?;), i bought a nice truck a couple years ago for 5 grand,i spend 2 more grand on it and totalled it under a semi 2 weeks later.I had only liabillity ins coverage on it.:WTF:
(i walked away with skin intact though):agreed:

I'd be willing to travel for a large gtg of members...
We had 6 + campers/RV's and 3 tents

we had 21 for Dinner on the friday night at the seafood buffet..15 shooters at tallow creek shooting grounds on Saturday (some went to N.O. to be tourists) and for Saturday Nights Gumbo Dinner we had a total of 26 ...

Fermanators duramax powered Burb didn't make the Pictures as he went into N.O. to do some sight seeing as well as GulfSurfers 6.5L Burb who shot skeet and came later for dinner...was a great time and I would be happy to do this more often...We had a few long distance travelers...Fermanator got the long distance award, traveling from Zephyrhills, FL and we had a couple moderators travel from Texas... Marty(DieselCash) from Fort Hood and Steve(RYDINHI4x4) from San Antonio

here are a couple pics...

Now that is way cool Pepp, err Paul. U gonna have it again? I used to shoot back in the day, still got the shotguns but only one pistol now. Its a semi auto 380, very small and I carry it at all times on a trip with the horses because its definitely powerfull enough to put a horse down thats compromised and unsaveable. Anyway this place is here and we luv visitors! Gonna try the pics again, its hard to see in them, they r from my phone camera.

That's kind of a nasty wrinkle there Bill. I still think you ought to get a body man to take a gander. Maybe they have a trick or two up their sleeve.

I got a friend who has a son that has a shop n he said get a hood. The other side is almost as bad. Bright side is it still shuts easy and doesnt vibrate n shake at high speed.

We do it twice a year...Spring and Fall plus a few of us gtg to camp in between...

Everyone is welcome to attend these gtgs...the more the merrier.:)

Like I said though...I'd be willing to travel to an even larger gtg of Members... Kids would have to be out of school though...It gets tougher and tougher to plan these and some don't materialize for lack of participation...I try to accommodate as many peoples date requests as possible that way they will be a nice size group...but I enjoy camping, and if no one can make it... I'll still go camping and shoot. this years fall gtg is at the same venue and the dates are Oct 28, 29 and 30(until check out time) not may camping spots left at the campground though...

When I was 17, I had an 86 Camaro that a body shop did work on and then the hood latch never worked right no matter how many times we would adjust it. Couldnt get it to pop open without a fight and some banging. Driving down a country road at about 60mph I hit a pot hole and the hood flew up, ripped the fenders and wrapped around the top of the car denting it all in and cracking the windshield everywhere. The dome light cover actually hit me in the head when it blew apart. Slowed down with my head out of the window and peeled the hood off the roof and bent the contorted metal as flat as I could and it latched by the hook only and drove home 20 miles looking through the cracks. That sucked, and I had probably attempeted to pop the hood like a few months earlier and didnt get it open and then it wasnt fully latched. Imagine that, not having to pop the hood for several months at a time :)

I got a few cars and trucks sittin here i haven't opened the hood for several years:hihi:

My first car was a 68 Mustang n I was under the hood every day cause it had a oil burning problem! LOL Ford 2 cycle engine! LOL

Mine gets opened 3 times a week. I check the oil at every fill up. Every 90's truck I have takes a love tap to open, each truck needs hit in a different place.

93 needs hit square in the front on the body line.
94 needs hit on the DS front corner
95 Gasser PS center
95 6.5 DS center

I had to look odd outside walking around my truck hitting the hood to figure out where it needed hit at.

My truck need a whack right on passenger side of the center divider lip deal. I dont know why it now needs that, it developed over last couple years. Need to add a crimp thing to the cable so it grabs sooner.
