I have wondered this myself. As for #'s the ford pumps always had bigger cc's and such. Not sure why GM would not want this stuff. 6.9 and 7.3 is not that mush bigger than our 6.5s. And honestly there is really not that much difference between them.

6.2 to a 6.5 to a 6.9 to a 7.3 is a huge jump and fueling wise, you'd be amazed. Look at our 6.5's, they run a 2831 pump vs a 2829 pump on the 6.2. I Installed a 31 pump on a stock 6.2 and lost 2-3 mpg, turbo, might be a wash.

From what I've read, the internals are basically the same but the Ford does turn the other way.
