MBRP 5" cat back for Dmax

Thats interesting... I have the PPE with EGR blocked and never get any CEL's.
I remember hearing about only certain PPE models Disabling EGR CEL's. If I remember correctly it was the "Economy" one's that wont keep the light off. but the upper end models will. At least thats how mine works. If I remove the programmer and go back to stock. I will get a CEL, but as long as its tuned with the PPE, I never get a CEL.
Correct me if I am wrong. All PPE's can clear codes, but only those upper end ones can actually block the EGR code from setting the CEL.

I dunno, I've read of some people putting a turbo back on and being in the clear, others driving it for 6 months before setting a code, others driving it and setting a code a block later. I can't find on PPE's site where it says the HOT+2 E.T. keeps the light from coming on.

That PPE hot 2 is the greatest thing since sliced bread for hand held programmers but a grand for it? Little steep when EFI is $250 less and gets you a million times more tune-ability.

The PPE will automatically shut off the EGR and the light that will pop up if you install a turbo back exhaust. the Hot+2Et is not $1000, I can get you one for much cheaper than that if interested. I also have blocker plates in stock if you need one of those too.

Let me know,

Chad

I can get the PPE for $600, so it does shut the EGR and light off as soon as you plug it in?? if so then i know what im getting

Ok, yeah I had a feeling the PPE is whats keeping the CEL off. Ive had the PPE on for at least 2 years and not once had a CEL. It does shutoff EGR by keeping the EGR valve closed, but its still possible for t to leak past (hence the reason for the blocker plate also).
you wont be disappointed with PPE. My next choice would be EFIlive, but I just dont have the time to spend tweaking it and stuff. maybe in the future.

ok cool, im getting the ppe then. thats and also 5" turbo back..

thanks for everyones help

Awesome, that is good to know. Why in the **** they don't just come out and say that on their webpage is beyond me.

Might be admitting to disabling emissions stuff if the epa read/looked at it. Liability reasons I'm going to assume.....

well I desided to go with the cat because because we already have it from dads old 2006 cant beat $100 for something almost new. and the PPE with be here tuesday along with my plow. thanks everyone

Well just do that then and get a cat eliminator pipe...pretty sure they have them anyways. I took the muffler out of my stock exhaust at first and it wasn't loud at all. That cat blocks a lot of noise and flow....get rid of it! I have 4" straight piped Silverline and it sounds awesome. Came with a muff but I took that out and sounds much better without that too. Never had a light or codes come through.

x2. When I'm in a position to get an exhaust all that factory crap is gonna go. From the driver's side manifold, the downpipe, and everything from there back. MBRP does have the cat-less front pipe to add to your dad's kit.
My goal:
BD Power Driver's Side Exhaust Manifold

DiamondEye Turbo Downpipe

I haven't decided what brand of exhaust I'd like. If I am also fortunate enough (same time as exhaust) to be able to lift my truck (4") then I'll get dual 5" stacks, otherwise a T304/T409 5" kit under the truck.

Woooo-damn, didn't realize those pics were gonna be that big.

btw, I had to use a pic from Alligator Performance, thank you for that.

I was talking to my one friend and he just pulled a 5" turbo back off a dmax and put stack on it and i asked him if he was will to give me the down pipe and cat delete pipe he sold it to me for $100 bucks and i helped put it on so i thought i made out like a bandit.. sounds so much better now...

LOL there a good motor in semi's but idk there over rated in the dodges..
