I thought the PPE hot+2 could keep it from coming on??
Thats interesting... I have the PPE with EGR blocked and never get any CEL's.
I remember hearing about only certain PPE models Disabling EGR CEL's. If I remember correctly it was the "Economy" one's that wont keep the light off. but the upper end models will. At least thats how mine works. If I remove the programmer and go back to stock. I will get a CEL, but as long as its tuned with the PPE, I never get a CEL.
Correct me if I am wrong. All PPE's can clear codes, but only those upper end ones can actually block the EGR code from setting the CEL.
I dunno, I've read of some people putting a turbo back on and being in the clear, others driving it for 6 months before setting a code, others driving it and setting a code a block later. I can't find on PPE's site where it says the HOT+2 E.T. keeps the light from coming on.
The PPE will automatically shut off the EGR and the light that will pop up if you install a turbo back exhaust. the Hot+2Et is not $1000, I can get you one for much cheaper than that if interested. I also have blocker plates in stock if you need one of those too.
Let me know,
Chad
Awesome, that is good to know. Why in the **** they don't just come out and say that on their webpage is beyond me.
well I desided to go with the cat because because we already have it from dads old 2006 cant beat $100 for something almost new. and the PPE with be here tuesday along with my plow. thanks everyone
Well just do that then and get a cat eliminator pipe...pretty sure they have them anyways. I took the muffler out of my stock exhaust at first and it wasn't loud at all. That cat blocks a lot of noise and flow....get rid of it! I have 4" straight piped Silverline and it sounds awesome. Came with a muff but I took that out and sounds much better without that too. Never had a light or codes come through.
yea it does better then a cummins.
