Hey just wondering what i would need to wire to switch my mirrors from manual to power? I have a set from a 03 dually, just the plain mirrors with power. I know i will have to get the mirror switch but has anyone done this before??

My truck is an 05 Duramax 2500 cc lb

I was helping a guy that I sold a set of mirrors to, trying to do the same thing. He never got back to me with what he actually ended up doing.

Only in his case I sold him power extend mirrors, he didnt have the extend feature.

The switch is a must however you might need a complete new BCM and in the end might not be worth it.

But I really dont know. And Im sure neither do most dealers.

I believe that the only thing you will need is the driver's and passenger's door modules(the window switches). the mirrors will have the harness you need and the powerwill be supplied through the window switch. You do have power windows right? as long as you have power windows you should be set, just plug and play. i don't think there is any programing that will have to be done either, i'll check tomorrow to be sure.

Just checked the schematics you should be good to go witjust plugging them in. the 03 mirrors have the same harness as the ones on th 05's, should have a blue connector and possibly a black one, there will be only one way the connectors will go into the window switch and i think they are even labled on some of them as to which is which. Hope this helps.

thanks for the quick replies, other prob is i dont have power windows yet.
I am getting them in the summer. I did add power locks so i could probably grab power from that. Im thinking that i may have to run all the mirror wiring from one side to the other. if i just added power to the mirror switch and ran wires to each mirror then it should work right?

Now that I think of it. If you get the correct schematics all you should have to do is power up the window module and ground it.

The memory wont work but Im guessing you have a work truck package anyways so the memory isnt there in the first place.

Good luck with it.

ya i have the work truck package. So i would have to order the power window harness and that would have the mirrors on it as well ??

I dont want to hijack this thread but I also have a worktruck package, just have the power locks with NO key fob so I unlock with the key. Would I have to get a harness to be able to put on the mirrors also. I am looking at a set of the 07 type and would really like to get rid of my manual ones on the truck now.

Do you have manual or power windows? There is no actual mirror harness so to speak. the mirrors plug directly into the window switch where they get their power and control.

Lets try this again. Here's the schematics

ya i just have manual windows, i am putting power ones in but i wasnt gonna use a oem kit. so i may just have to run a seperate power for the manual mirrors

Manual mirrors and I seen lower post that said running power would be the best bet and where I work building Fire trucks we have guys doing this all the time so I might just ask a favor from a guy to help me
Thanks anyway
