Louder engine ??

It's only loud at Idle and has a droning noise only at idle. I'll add some 2 stroke to it and see if that helps, but maybe this is how it's supposed to sound[except the droning] It's just diesel clatter and it used to be quieter from idle on up before. I like the sound [now it sounds like a diesel truck, Just got used to how car like [diesel ] it used to sound like.

Totally normal when people just put in stock injectors at 2060psi pop. So with 2250psi pop its going to be a little more pronounced. Mine was also very quiet and well mannered when I first bought it, although it smoked a ton at any speed when I stomped on it. The engine got louder with every upgrade that improved flow and performance.

At idle stare at the pulleys and make sure they are are spinning nice and smooth just to eliminate any contribution from them.

Master GMCTD did a long explanation at the old site that I only partially understood. It was under a thread from me called "Help, I screwed this truck up bigtime". funny to reread it now.

I read it a few months ago.. It is funny to read the old stuff.

I was more curious as to why some of us never get airbound from doing the INJ swap. Of course you do Kenny. You are MURPHY, and MONTEZUMA all in one!

I used Protecto-Wrap (ICe N water type window/door sealant tape, similar to dynomat) my Drivers side door, and you wouldn't believe how solid, and sound absorbing it is now. I used about 1/2 a roll on it, rolls are about 20 bux a piece at Home Depot. Now All the cab noise I hear is all out of right ear, its odd now. Need to do the other side.

After Applying I went over it a few times with a heat gun to seal the deal.

Rob You say it DRONES at idle? Can you try to verbally explain what a drone sound is? Serious question.

Matt it sounds like it might be the drone of the clatter at idle, only it's a dull drone, kinda like when you take the oil fill cap off while eng. running or put a stethascope on the v/c only more subdued. It only does it when first started in the morning until wamed up. The other noise thats been bothering me is a ticking that seems to come from under the dash somewhere. It doesn't do it all the time, it kinda sounds like a relay going on and off. It's faint not loud like a blinker relay. Just a steady tick,tick,tick.etc.

Could you post a pic of how you installed it. My driver door rattles over bumps and I would like to stop it and short of new weather strip this might be a better solution for me to since there's no adj. for door.

I will take pix when I do the other side. I basically just unrolled it, peeled the sticky off and covered the entire panel. (I didn't remove the black inner panel from the door) Just went right over everything.

Cut pieces with scissors... Really stupidly easy, just don't touch the sticky faces together or it'll never come apart. Basically just covering everything the door panel covers with a big sticker roll :)
